hi all,

Advice need, I have an 02 c5 exclusive saloon 98000 miles. The power steering started to make a little noise when cold. I know the steering and the suspension share a resvoir. I put the suspension down to the bottom and I think I'm right is saying that when the suspension is down the oil should come up to the bottom of the "cage" that is there. I can't see oil in the resevoir. The suspension goes up and down happy enough. I don't know when the level was last checked. I don't think there is a leak as it leaves no oil behind it. Do theses cars loose oil over time? Are there any common oil leak areas that are not obvious? I'm going to buy a couple of bottles of the super dooper oil for it and top it up. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Yes you're on the right track, level is checked with suspension set on LOW.

Common leak I would check is the front suspension return lines, you can see this by turning front wheel full lock, check both sides. The rubber return line breaks where it joins the metal tube leading back to the reservoir.

Use only LDS (orange fluid for top up. B)

Cheers

Chris
