Hazard Warning Lights Wont Stop Flashing!

My wife and I have just bought a 2002 Citroen C3 1.4 Hdi. We love the car BUT we are having problems with the hazard warning lights. They keep going off when the car is driving along , usually if we go over a bump or I have found that if we shut the doors and i rock the car gently (without the car being locked) they go off and if i rock the car gently again they switch off. sometimes they flash for short periods, sometimes they flash for longer periods. We took it to a garage that is a renault / peugeot / citroen specialist and they tested the BSI board and there were no faults, they disconnected the hazard switch but it kept happening, they did find that the cars previous owner had installed an aftermarket alarm system and some led / neon lights and there was loads of wiring leading to all of this.

The garage said that they disconnected the aftermarket alarm system and that this was causing the problem. However we drove the car home and around where we live for a bit and the hazard warning lights are STILL randomly going off! I am of the opinion that it's a loose wire somewhere but where!? I have no idea, the garage appears to have no idea - I want to get all the extra wiring that has been put in removed but will have to save up because the garage told me that they would have to remove body panels to remove the wiring?! If it has anything to do with the extra mods then with them taken out completely (even though they are currently disconnected)at least i'll know that there's no chance it could be this.

does anyone have any suggestions as it stands i'm £ 360 down and still no further.

HELP!! :)
