Hi.

I've got a problem with my 2003 C8 2.2HDi Exclusive CC.

The car just cut out for no apparent reason. When the ignition is switched on it now displays Immobiliser Fault.

I've also noticed that there is also no glow plug light on the dash when the ignition is switched on, and the main ecu can't be interrogated.

I can read the ABS and Airbag ECU's, so this suggests that OBD is working ok.

Occasionally you can switch the ignition on and the glow plug light will illuminate, no Immobiliser Fault displayed and the car will start. I can interrogate the Engine ECU at this time.

If the car is left running, it will then just stop at random times, again displaying Immobiliser Fault, and again with no glow light or ECU access via OBD.

I've checked the under bonnet fuseboard and replaced it as a precautionary measure.

I checked all contacts on the main Engine ECU and all earth terminals, and fitted a brand new battery to the car.

I've also tried a Bsi reset several times and have not cured the problem.

Now i'm assuming that the transponder code for the immobiliser is still in the Bsi as it wouldn't starts "sometimes" if it had lost the data.

I'm going to get Lexia and see if i can get any further info from a global test, but to be honest, i don't hold out much hope on this.

Anyone got any suggestions??

Regards

Steve
