My Citroen Pluriel went into the local dealership 3 weeks ago as I was having electrical problems. Also a new tailgate trim had to be fitted as I could no longer access the boot.

Diagnostic checks were carried out and a new battery was fitted to correct the electrical problem. New tailgate was fitted.

Picked the car up yesterday and drove 30 minutes to a business meeting. As I was driving thought there was quite a lot of air noise inside the car - checked all windows to see if shut properly - they were. On stopping at my destination - I glanced up at my roof and could see daylight. The roof on the drivers side was not lying flat on the runners and hence letting air in - causing the noise. I called the dealership asap as my roof was not like this when I gave them the car. I asked them what I should do - they suggested opening and closing the roof. I opened the roof - however it would not then close. Horrror strucken - I glanced at the sky - thankfully no rain clouds in sight.

I told dealership I was taking car back to them - they were not claiming any responsibility. After heated discussions -in which they maintained they would not have touched the roof (during their work they had just completed) and they did not cause the problem the dealership managed to close the roof - however problem was still there - bumps in the roof. They then asked if I'd maintained the roof - ie lubricated. I said no - so this was definitely my fault.

They have now given me a new quote to fix the roof!! (I'll be on bread and water for the rest of this month) - however my real question - how did the bumps get in the roof in the first place? Could they have just appeared or would the roof have to be opened and closed. I just don't think this is completely my fault.

Help - what are my rights?
