  1. Cheers Paul, I better go order one of them fobs before I damage the little buttons, I will also check out the links Later, Thanks again
  2. Hello again Paul :) I did look on Ebay but they dont seem to be the same fob as mine... They look much the same but mine has a rubber insert over the little buttons, The one's I see on the sites seem to be like the newer fobs.. Like hard plastic covering the buttons, I don't know if these will allow me to do as you kindly said about swapping the insides over, I checked out the carriers on the link and found it said he dont post to Ireland, Suppose it would have cost as much as a new one by the time the postage was paid, My mate got me one from a scrap yard, Thank you again for your help with this, Just one more thing I would like to ask you is about a service manual. Should I start a new thread or is it okay to try find out here, Need the service manual for a 2006 dispatch 1.6, I had a look on ebay and seen a couple but I really dont know what I be getting from the seller... I heard stories of people ordering manuals for motorbikes and the manuals were just very bad copies or of little use to them. I want to service the van myself. Cheers Hi Route master Thank you for your reply. If all else fails I will try my local locksmith and see if he can sort the fob for me. I hate the thought of going back to the Stealer OOPS I mean dealer to be over taxed for the want of a bit of rubber. Cheers for the info
  3. Hi Paul A short time after the service it stated to play up again, First the starting was touch and go, in other words sometime she started and most times I got the weak effort it made before the service, So this time I got underneath to check the wiring... As you suggested :-) And sure enough to my delight I seen that a nut had vibrated off leaving the ring thingy at the end of the wire floating on the threads of the bolt... found a suitable nut and stuck it on, Me thinks the mechanic liked my company so much that he decided to leave the nut just lose enough to get me around for a while then when it vibrated off I would have to go see him again lol everything's good on that side now, Many thank's to you Paul
  4. Hello all Been searching the sites trying to find either a new key fob or just the rubber replacement, I reckon the rubber will do the trick but cant find anyplace to get it, it's worn so much now that I have to press the tiny buttons to lock and unlock the van, Getting worried that dirt or water will enter and make things much worse, Does anyone know of an online shop where I can get a replacement without having to get another key cut, I also need a spare wheel carrier that sits under the rear of the van... I damaged mine when reversing, there was no wheel in it and it was hanging down when I was reversing... it got mangled in anticipation of your helf I thank you's
  5. Again I thank you for the info Paul, A little late but in replying to you again but I dont seem to be getting notified by email when a reply comes in, I just checked and made sure my mail address is up to date, I went and had the battery checked and the chap reckoned it was the battery so stuck a new one in, everything worked fine for a month or so before it started playing up again, Took it for a service and asked the guy to check it out, He got the starter rebuilt and things are going good now, Thanks again for your input which will come in handy in the future B)
  6. Hi all For the past couple of months my Dispatch 1.6 has been having starting problems, it happens in the morning, I turn the key and it will make an attempt to start but the battery seems to die just before she turns over, On other occasions I get nothing and have to bump start her to get to work, after work she starts just fine, the little inspection glass thingy on the battery is showing green, So i suspected the battery needed changing "its 8 years old" As a little test I turned on headlights to full beam and tried to turn it over, nothing started but the lights stayed as they were... in other words - They didn't die or show any sign of draining the last of the battery power, another time she wouldn't start I found a wire coming off the battery + that had a spade type fuse that seemed to be only half way in so pushed it home fully and everything worked grand for a couple of weeks.. But now she's playing up again, went out this afternoon to get a new battery but the place was closed, needed to travel to a store yesterday so bump started her and thought - what if she wont start in the store car park, Just before the store I parked on a hill and turned her off for a second Then tried to start her but I got no sign of life so bump started again and took her home, she had been running about 10 minute's before stopping on the hill Any ideas people

  8. Hi Paul Sorry bout delay in getting back to you, I actually lost track of this site until I struck another starting problem - that I will post shortly, So there I was, Just about to register on here when it asked me to use my old Email address and user name, I had totally forgot that I was already a member, Its only been 2 years since you replied to my post So must better late than never, I thank you, found the problem to be the starter motor needed changing, Think I got fleeced at €160 from a friend of a friend, But it worked, Just hope my new problem is cheaper to fix, Thanks again Paul.
  9. Hallo all. First time posting so be gently with me :-) It started playing up last week when I it took 4 turns of the key before it made any attempt to start. All I get now when I try start is a little click. Had to bump start it to get it home last night. I did notice a new warning light that comes on for a few seconds.... It looks like a mobile phone. Can anyone please tell me what the symbol is or what may be wrong with this engine. In anticipation of your help I thank you.
