Randombloke Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 When I got my C5, the Trafficmaster was asking for renewal. I renewed it and it accepted the new PIN, in many ways the C5 TRafficmaster is identical to Trafficmaster Freeway, which I've had for the last 8 years. However, the unit never seems to receive any transmissions. I've checked it alongside a Trafficmaster Freeway box, which is happilly giving me info, but it neither flashed the LED nor gives any verbal info. I've checked the unit is in auto mode, but regardless of mode the unit should flash the LED, I think. I've taken out the glovebox and made sure that the aerial feed is plugged in. There's a piece of RG59 (co-ax) cable that heads off under the dash, obviusly to the aerial. Does anyone know where the aerial is or what the cable route is? Some forums seems to indicate that the rear aerial does Sat Nav, radio and TrafficMaster. Is this the case? The Sat Nav and radio work properly. Quote
iannez Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 they all work of the same ariel m8. there is a amplifier behind the trim on the left hand side of drivers footwell but not sure if that works with tm. if you drop the head cloth under ariel you will see three wires going on to it. nearly sure cable runs behind dash and up behind drivers a post trim. Randombloke Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 Hi guys, Another question. The car has now had its 72k service and a check of the aerials and cabling says the "Traffic Master ECU" is faulty. I'm assured that the Traffic Master unit itself is fine, but that is the ECU through which the feeds go (including the aerial?) is at fault. It's about £350+. I'm also told that the ECU in question is a Telemark one. Can anyone shed any light on this? Can anyone provide a part number for this ECU on a 2002 2.2 HDi equipped with Traffic Master? Can anyone also verify the Traffic Master unit and this ECU are actually separate? Has anyone ever swapped one of these out? The risk I'm told is that when the nit is removed, the licence will be forgotten, and a new or s/h box will need to be re-licensed. Is the unit the same as the one used in other Citroens which use an external aerial for TM? Quote
shallishanti? Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 I've got an account on citroen-pr.net....online parts thing. If you give me your VIN I can check part numbers for you. From the diagrams there is only one Traffic Info box but depending on what systems you have there may be another ECU. Also the Multifunction Display is configured for this so I guess could need to be re-configured if the TM is replaced. When I look at the parts list that the system throws up it quotes the same number for the reference number for all 3 original installations. 6563JY which retails at £306 inc vat, although the part numbers are : 6563 P0 - until RPO 086916563 P1 - since RPO 08692, since RPO 090026563 A0 - since RPO 09002 with RT2 radiotelephone Need your VIN to be sure.
