Good to see this started in 2013 so for first post 2015 here goes! Wish I could remember all and dates but will do my best Early cars were all company owned Age 22 now 84,drove a variety of Ford escorts including a popular first one was without heater and windscreen washers, had a fairy liquid bottle filled with water whilst driving opened the window(wind up type) and squirted! And thought it was Christmas because I had the use of 4 wheels. Age about 25 new Company and had full use of at least 4 minor 1000s estate cars real rattle bangs but I loved them. Then 40000 miles was considered a cars life,if car was driven hard which mine was over total of Ireland. Also almost always had the top end de coked valves ground(who remembers those days). Got promotion and got big boys cars Ford estate cars can't remember names but one had fancy wood look sides, loved it. I think there were 2 of thes one a plain paint work no fancy woodwork look alike. Then oh joy a Ford Cortaina G T it went like an Express train and that's how I drove it. Poor thing it was written off in a smash. A further G T can't remember it's name not Cortina but a V4 engine. It was a Pig and had it shot as soon as soon as possible. Finished with Company's car a Ford estate and loved it. At around 40 became self employed and had to buy my own. First was a Triumph 2000 an old lady but it served me well and over a few years changed to another 2000 one was an auto. Loved it a real gentlemans car. In those days cars were easy to change I saw something in a garage, had a drive and went home with it. Had a Toyota Crown thought it was the most beautiful car I ever onedfelt like a God in it. Not a great car drove like a hurt pig but a looker. A Damiler V8 now that was a car. Petrol was cheap and m p g of little interest this car you did not hear much from the engine only a lovely gurgling sound. Cost a fortune in exhausts, they were always being damaged on security ramps much used in N I troubled times. Also had valve trouble, some fun stripping down a V6. A variety of Toyotas inc an MR2 only kept it a few weeks concluded I would either kill mysef or someone else without doubt loose licence. Next a Toyota normal salon can't remember name and indeed a variety of Huyandis , Vauxalls then a trusty Citeron Picasso 1.6d this in 2007 still have it driven by my son, battered and worn but drives as good as new a real family hack. Inbetween C4s a Ford B max the one with sliding rear door, never really loved it my heart is really with Citeron (forgot I had had 2 C5s loved them and would love one of the latest just to sit in one is a temptation, get the behind me Satin!). Then In 2014 an almost new Picasso C4 beautiful red joy of my heart makes me feel good even just to look at is, something tells me this will be my last, well at least at least till I spot something that takes my fancy. This is first and no doubt the last time I have gone down memory lane re cars, list is not complete but it will do. arm987
