  1. I have recently updated the front end of the website, it is apparent that there was a vulnerability with it for a short term using word press, I have now cleared this. I was notified immediately of the problem by my logging software however firefox and chrome seem to have a delay on their forgivness and still say there is a threat. I have swept the site with internal and external scanners and at present there is no threat. anyway the new look front page is at www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk and it will be updated to have a lot more content soon.
  2. I haven't moved anything, the site is on the same server and address it has always been on ? Strange if you had difficulty.
  3. The email issues that the site has been having should also be fixed now, I hope :)
  4. Hi Guys and Gals I have decided not to break the site but instead upgrade it and add new features, some of the features are in beta so may have one or two bugs. Fixes - Fixed the search feature which has been very unreliable - Fixed the Chat room function although there is limited space in there Modified - The look of the site has changed and I will try to put an option for old skins as soon as possible - Latest posts has been changed and hopefully an improvement for you all - Post layout has changed and might be a bit confusing to start with, I will try to put a tutorial of how the features work soon At the top next to view new content there is a picture of a paintbrush, click on it and customise the colour of the forum to your prefered colour, I again hope this meets with your approval Additions - A new tab has appeared called garage, this enables you to add your car to the garage, you can then list modifications and how you did them, create a photo gallery, etc. you are not limited to one vehicle and although this is a Picasso site I cant see why other cars and modifications cannot be added. - More social networking capabilities are now included which means you can share this site with more of your friends. - The Arcade has been added again Bugs - There seems to be minor bugs with moderation tools and general layout I am investigating and will hopefully have a resolution soon. I hope this is an improvement rather than a hinderance to users.

  6. Get a second opinion before you look at this, 06 car with that much corrosion would lead me to beleive manufacturer defect, is there any recall notices outstanding on your car, phone citroen to check, you will need your VIN number. Get a hobbyist mechanic to do it, a lot are more qualified than the franchise mechanics and a fraction of the cost but their work has no warranty, you may also find an independent auto electrical company may fix it at a fraction rather than replace.
  7. Hey all, Not often I come on here other than to tweak / break the website, I am writing on a plea to help someone I actually know with a charity fund raiser for a little boy called Mikey and many others like him who have a rare disease called Perthes Disease which is a condition where the top of the thigh bone (the femoral head) softens and breaks down. It occurs in some children and causes a limp and other symptoms. The bone gradually heals and reforms as the child grows. The aim of treatment is to ensure that the femoral head reforms back into its normal shape so that the hip joint can work well. This is not the half of it as Mikey has also had a heart condition detected at a very early age I have not really exploited this forum for my own gain, other than to cover costs of the server and upgrades oh and the odd plug for the company I work for. However I have never had a child so close with to me that has only had bad luck so early on in life. This time I am asking for your assistance to help a cause for a deserving child who can have a better quality of life with a few bare essentials for a youngster in his condition and possibly a few creature comforts on top. Mikey's mother has always fought to help others with no thought to herself, this is now her time for others to help her and I want to be one of those people who can spread the word to help her and others like her, THE TARGET FUND IS ONLY £100 for this particular page I would like to see that target smashed into 1000's of pieces. Mikeys fund raising page is here Help Mikey I will be eternally grateful to anybody that can donate as little or as much as possible, £1, £10, £100 (ok maybe the £100 a bit too far) but a donation to my Cousin would be most appreciated by me and I am sure his mother will be ready to kick the sh!t out of me as she does not know I am part of a vast community of car lovers PS. I will ensure all paypal donate buttons never appear on this site ever again, if you find one report immediately and I will remove it. Donate to Mikey's charity Thank you for viewing and thanks in advance to those that contribute Glen Powell
  8. Well since I broke it I suppose I should try to fix it, a number of new members will have to re register but I am confident that I can get it sort of back upto date, it does make you realise how much data there is though as so far it has only fixed the old posts upto 2008, I might see if I can make the script work backwards.
  9. Because this is taking so long I am going to leave the scripts until night time now so between the hours of 00:00 and 8:00 there will be disruption to service till I get this all fixed.
  10. For those unable to log in I am sorry it is not possible to reinstate your account from the database, Please reregister using the same username and I will try to reinstate your post and topic links, I can only do this if you use the same name though.
  11. Update I am at present running some scripts to re index the the member IDs in topic and posts along with the topic starter ID and Last post ID, the scripts are resource hungry mainly due to the size of the database, so it is causing access problems to this site at the moment. due to this I am stopping and starting the script to allow access and to free up resources,as well as trying to tweak the script to work faster. Sorry for the problems.
  12. over 24 hours of trying the database will not allow the import of new members and it will show all posts before today as guest posts, the reason for this is as it deleted the users it deleted the AuthorID from the posts, the forum will now work, I will not resync the post counts as this will show as zero, Really sorry for the problems, Some users may have to reregister on the site as I was only able to import members upto december or their abouts after that a corrupt record would not let be go any further and It will not allow fix or deletion of the record without trashing the member database :( I have set it to backup more regularly now, the backups take a lot of space so were not as frequent, I have now set to backup more frequently and delete old backups. SPAMMING ISSUE I have found a trend in the spamming and have used that trend to reduce the spamming, this is not to say that I have stopped it as some of the spammers are actual humans on the site but for the BOT version I may have reduced it considerably until they change their programs that is. Thank you for your years of support, this forum has had its fair share of troubles and I hope this is the last of them.
  13. Hey all, while I was trying to sort out the spamming issue my browser done a dive during the deleting known spammers as I restarted the browser it gave me the option to open last session which I thought was a good idea until it told me it deleted 14,000 users (including me) from the database :( I am trying my hardest to incorporate the backup into the system but it is proving more difficult as it keeps crashing the database I will try to resolve ASAP but at the moment I have been on it for near 20 hours and it will not allow merging of the backup with the existing Database :( Sorry for the inconvenience, on the good side spam should reduce :(
  14. In my opinion both cases come under non performance of goods which means the vendor is at fault, works even better if you traded in as this proves you have no viable means of transport, either way if you buy a product that does not perfom as expected you are entitled to certain compensations, you are required by sales of goods act of 1982 (as amended) to give time for them to rectify the problem however in this case it should not cost you!!! under the consumer credit act the creditors are equally liable so have a chat with them. If they are inhibiting you work or causing extreme dificulty to continue you normal activities through a sale that they have contracted then surely they are in the wrong. I have left it pretty broad but look into it and I am sure you will get a good response if you investigate
  15. The site has been moved to another server to hopefully improve performance,, Sorry for any downtime..
  16. The site is slow because I am doing updates to the server, the log files have ever been archived since the dawn of time so there are many and they are big. due to the above it is taking a lot of processing power and reducing site performance, the good news is it should free up space and make things a little faster. Cheers Glen
  17. I have changed the way that cookies are stored so try logging out (if logged in) and re login Sorry about the troubles.
  18. I am sure a lot of you have been wondering why the web address was citroenpicasso.org.uk rather than something like citroen-owners-club.co.uk, the truth of the matter is due to changes years ago I lost the domain but the good news is I got it back :D When you first log in it may ask you to log in again, if it continuously asks you to log in clear all cookies and log in again and that should fix it. All the best to all and I will try my hardest to promote the site back to its former glory
  19. Have a look over on the sister site www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/ It is a site specifically for the picasso with over 3500 members

  24. Well the C8 looks very impressive indeed and I suppose I should have put something on the site earlier, however unlike the car the mini site created by citroen for the C8 is not so impressive, It looks like they are trying to blind its users with science using navigation and flash trickery which is poor and does not conform to the look and feel of the rest of citroens branded site. Anyway enough about the site and onto the car (MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle)) first of all MPVs used to be classed as minibus like vehicles with 7 seats or more (in the publics view), the reason they are called MPVs is due to the ability to swap and alter the cabin configuration, i.e. taking stuff to the tip then you can remove the seats and so on. Details of the C8 Citroen has built up a tremendous reputation for MPVs, topping the charts in the compact MPV market with the Picasso, and offering one of the best 'budget' MPVs in the form of the Berlingo Multispace. Until the introduction of the C8 its offering in the full-sized MPV category simply couldn't compete with the best of the competition. With the C8 Citroen now has a convincing range topper for those family buyers needing more space. It's an important model for Citroen, with the MPV market growing it now has a model that'll be appealing to those Picasso buyers looking to trade up to something bigger. Inside the C8 offers either seven individual seats, or in eight-seat format, a rear three-seat bench, with electrically operated sliding rear doors on all but the entry-level model. All the seats offer slide and tilt adjustment, the outer middle seats fitted with ISOFIX child seat mountings; all come equipped with three-point belts. Specification is high across the range, safety equipment on all models including six airbags and ABS with EBD. Sharing its range of engines with numerous models from the PSA (Peugeot/Citroen) group, there are two petrol and two diesel engines on offer. Of them it's the 2.2-litre HDI diesel powerplant that suits the C8 best, with consumption almost equal to the smaller 2.0-litre HDI, but offering a useful increase in power. Only the 2.2-litre HDI and the 160bhp petrol engine cope convincingly with the C8s bulk, the other engines needing working hard to produce decent performance. Easy to drive, comfortable and neatly styled inside and out, the instruments being a real feature, Citroen finally has a range-topping MPV that competes with the best of the competition. Keep an eye out for offers on it too, Citroen regularly promoting their range with fantastic discounts. PDF Documentation Dimensions http://www.citroen.co.uk/c8/pdf/dimensions.pdf Engine http://www.citroen.co.uk/c8/pdf/engines.pdf Performance http://www.citroen.co.uk/c8/pdf/performance.pdf That should be enough info for now so here is a picture.
