  1. Thanks for your replies and comments. I would be pleased to know more about the meeting place and dates etc. I don't think I am aslow driver but to acheive better MPG than the quoted figure by starting off progresivly and only using the brakes as a last resort. I try to keep my speed to between 65 and 70 for the best results. With the increased fuel costings mototing can cost you less if one gets better MPG by driving in a more economical way, every time the brakes are used one is wasting fuel! I was interested to read Ian's note on oil changes. I changed mine on the C5 and the Picassos. The C5 bottom cover was a swine taking 17 fixings to remove! can you tell me Ian how the bottom cover is removed and regarding the filter can you say if the new filter element is placed in to the cap first and then applied to the aluminium filter housing or is the filter element applied to the housing first. I do intend to change my oil at 3000 miles to a full synthetic. The other question I would like to ask is how on earth do you get to the air and cabin filter? Is the fuel filter a throw away type? Your comments would be appreciated. Thank you again Ian and Wozza for your comments Jack
  2. Following collection of my C4 SX 1.6 92 HDI I went on a run to Southport and back to Stockport. I was careful with the new vehicle keeping revs below 2750 and starting off with care. Before starting out from the dealer I set the trip computer to zero. On arriving home I was suprised to have achieved 85.9 mpg. I have now covered 300 miles and running to and thro arround Stockport I am currently doing 71MPG average. This latest HDI vehicle which was built July 2006 (from dated component labels) seems a fine build in every respect. I have had numerous problems with many new vehicles in the past but this Citroen build is good and much better than my past Picasso's and c5. Comments please and especially from other owners of 1.6 HDi C4 cars.
