I have a C5 auto HDI 2001. For some time it has been cutting out and going into service/half power mode when cold if you give it a little too much throttle, and this has been happening for 4 years! It used to read "anti-pollution fault", but does not bother doing this any more. Lately, it does the power cut down thing more often , if the incline is too steep, even when running hot. It is fine if you stop engine , and then switch on again, but unerving if you are on the middle lane of a motorway going uphill! I have tried using the cold start method of driving in the manual mode, but it still clunks into service cut power mode. Also, the headlights flash at odd times, but solved this by always having sidelights on when driving...then no flash. No point going to a citroen garage, I was once charged £96 for a fuse.....when it does the automatic gear box fault thing......in my case it was a fuse. Apart from all this, I am happy with the 150,000 miles the car has given me, and will keep it till it falls apart. If anyone has a simple explanation for this cold start, and uphill climb problem, I would be grateful, thanks
