Xcarlink Or Citroen Usb Box
norm7171551 replied to a topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
I have thought about the USB for my C6. I have tried wireless adaptors that broadcast through spare radio channels and none really work. I have connected the ipod with a proper ipod cable to the three socket adaptor in the glove box but the ipod will only work (brilliantly) when the car is not moving. -
Thanks for the help. I complained to Citroen who were very good. The "new" valve is not registering in the car but the other three now are. I will get gealer to correct that at next service, due about now.

I had the first problem (apart from recalls) with my C6 yesterday - the tyre fitter said that he had not seen it on C6 (well, had not seen a C6 at all....) but was not uncommon on C5. After a visit to garage to inflate tyre the warning light came on for front onside. I stopped and the valve simply came away in my hand. It appeared to have sheared. I asked my usual tyre fitters (the excellent A&A in Cardiff) what to do and they said I would need part from main dealer. Telephoned main dealer who had one, but couldn't fit until 20 March!!!!! I therefore bought the part (over £60!) and had A&A fit. Tyre now fine, but none of th sensors work. Unless someone here has a fix I guess it will need main dealer computer at next service. I am disappointed by a number of things here. My car is an 07 plate - for a valve to corrode in a short period of time seems scandalous. Should I worry about the others shortly following suit? How can Citroen allow a situation where a fairly fundamental piece of the car can only be replaced by a main dealer and where the lead in time is 18 days? I had a further problem that when I jacked up the car I could not get wheel off hub. No amount of pulling, cut hands and persuading with my foot would budge. In the end called AA who took 15 minutes of much hammering to get it off. A&A suggested that the steel hub had corroded against the alloy wheel. Again, disappointing. Does anyone from Citroen UK read this site? I would be interested in responses from other readers or from the company, the latter by private emailif they prefer.

Despite further reluctance from same dealer requiring further call to Slough Road this recall was at last completed on Friday last. There was also a second recall connected with tyre changing instructions and apparently will get letter on that soon.

I thought that as well. The work still hasn't been done as the nearest Citreon garage that would do it (and where I bought the car) is in receivership / administration and the work has not been possible there due to no parts / no courtesy car etc. Just as well it's not urgent!

Righ, booked this about three weeks ago with Citroen for the Cardiff main dealer to be do the recall work, but they have rung to cancel today stating that that dealer doesn't do C6's! A little disappointing on the customer service side, methinks!

I regularly get 60 mpg from my C6 2.7HDi* *Coasting downhill with the engine off.

I had a product recall notice on Friday "to replace a component of the braking assistance circuit....to guarantee the long-term reliability of the braking assist function". Just thought I'd let you know!
-
No problem with auto box. On V steep hills I am still to master zero roll hill starts with the electronic handbrake that does not have sensitivity of manual handbrake.
-
Some review sites say the 3 litre petrol engine is both slower and more fuel hungry than the 2.7HDi. I guess that spelled its death knell for the C5.

It's my first experience with a deisel car so the way it puts down its power (big torque / low revs) took a little getting used to - easy to stick down foot and not appreciate your speed due to "lack of noise response" compared to petrol. It does seem slow when it pulls away first, but as a long distance cruiser is quite fanastic. Since purchase have got average 32.5 mpg which I think pretty good.

My 2nd hand C6 has a "video in" 3 socket connection in the glovebox. I have bought an IPOD branded connection cable that provides perfect sound and video in the car, so long as the car is stationary. The manual says that when the car is moving the video display will turn off (obvious for safety), but the sound will stay on. On my car the entire video option, including sound, gets disabled as soon as the car starts moving. Any ideas, please?

The models look great. My C6 travels the M4 Cardiff / Swansea a couple of days a week but is then mainly north Cardiff suburbs.
-
I have not had this problem so can't really offer sensible advice. I guess the display is computer driven, so my only suggestion would be to get the computer changed.

Hi Richard, I also have an iron grey 2.7. Mine is second hand (previous owner Citroen) and I thought the deal they did was fanastic. Mine was registered in 2007. I THINK mine is RT3 - it does play MP3 CD's and does have a six disk changer, boot mounted. My issue is connecting my IPOD to it - bought an expensive cable from apple that works perfectly, so long as the car is stationary! The only other C6 I see regularly, a dark blue one near me in north Cardiff does exchange flashes, btw!

Fastest Growing Group In The Club?
norm7171551 replied to norm7171551's topic in New Member Introduction
No tow bar, but welcome! -
Thank you - anyone from K&N who wants a guinea pig then please get in touch! The re-map seems an obvious option for a number of reasons, not least by changing the management system to run more efficiently you should get better economy and lower emissions, quite apart from the performance benefits. However, doesn't "chipping" effect warranty and insurance?

On previous cars (Volvo's) I have fitted a K&N air filter to the petrol turbo engine (auto box) and got, I think, slightly better low down response. Now with 2.7 turbo diesel in my C6 has anyone tried a K&N, any good, and which one do you need?

I reckon we C6 owners are part of the fastest growing forum group in the owners club. I reckon we've trippled membership in the last few weeks! ;>)

I am also a recent C6 buyer (Monday!). I would love to use my Ipod on my C6, but looking at variious discussion forums, doesn't seem possible. Anyone any experience of Ipod and Navidrive?

The 0% swung it for me. I think independent dealers would struggle with that.

My first posting, so excuse me. I errrr, think it could be bought cheaper than that, and with 0% for 4 years..... I thought great value!
