  1. Did you just get the factory springs cut by 30mm or did you replace the shocks with aftermarket versions? Also, what's the ride quality like with the lowered suspension? It's quite firm at stock height, so I'd be interested to know.
  2. Not worth the trouble. Once you pay for the factory bluetooth unit and then add labour, you're better off just buying a bluetooth headset from your mobile phone dealer. That's what I did - I just leave the headset in the car. It looks daft wearing it about in public, but it's fine in the car. In Australia they retail for about $100 for a name brand. Which would be about 40 pounds in the UK. Though ebay always has them at 50% less. To me, the only thing worth retrofitting is the MP3 auxiliary input because using FM transmitters with iPods is just shitty, especially if you live in dense urban areas where most of the radio spectrum is used up. Also, it's a very elegant solution compared to replacing the headunit which destroys the flair of the interior.
  3. What do you think about the C4 Picasso 18 inch rims on the VTS? I was considering buying the C6 18 inch wheels but I don't like them as much as the Picasso ones. I'm looking at $1500 Australian to buy them - so fire away with your thoughts on the following photoshop job.
  4. They did some crimping on the sliding rails which effectively tightened the arm rest so it didn't slide randomly. Now, I actually have to apply a little bit of pressure to get it to move forward.
  5. Actually, it doesn't stop that from happening. I had to argue for half an hour to get my dealer to fix the sliding-with-a-mind-of-its-own arm rest issue under warranty.
  6. Hi guys, There's this annoying problem that I have with the arm rest in my C4. I purchased my VTS with leather in June 2005, however for some strange reason, in the early models with leather, only the topside of the arm rest was covered in leather and the sides were covered in suede. The issue is that when you turn corners, the leather from the driver's seat rubs against this suede and makes a rather loud squeaking noise. I note that on the newest models with leather, the armrest is now fully covered in leather and the noise no longer occurs. My original dealer says to place a strip of velcroe to stop the noise, but that's hardly useful or aesthetically pleasing. What is it with Citroen dealers!!! I was wondering weather any of you have experienced the same problem and whether it's worth buying a new full-leather armrest from Citroen or simply getting an aftermarket upholsterer to replace the suede with leather? Thanks.
  7. The C4 is just the right size. Enough room for 4, not too small, not too big, decent performance, and hot exterior!
  8. Why are you selling this wonderful machine?
  9. On all the time in Aussie heat at 40 degrees Celcius (100 Farenheit). Engine starts sounding strained the higher the fan speed, but performance never diminishes in my opinion.
  10. Thanks for all your replies. Much appreciated. I would rather not get 18 inch wheels or lowered suspension as I prefer the appearance of the standard VTS 180 wheels and the suspension is already hard as it is without any lowering. (unless someone knows where I can get the C4 WRC concept 18 inch wheel + bodykit).
  11. Hi from Sydney Australia! Just wondering whether anyone could tell me if the C4 can accept wider tyres - say 215/50 or 225/50 versions. I don't like after market rims and would like to keep the current 17 inch VTS rims. Does changing the tyre type screw up the tyre pressure monitor? Thanks!
  12. French arrogance.
  13. If you want MP3 capability, install Part # 9706.AG from Peugeot and they can activate an Auxiliary Port so you can plug your iPod or other MP3 player in to the system without getting a tacky after market unit.
  14. The main difference is a bit more output power and that it can play MP3 CDs. To be honest, the standard unit is pretty good and anecdotally, there doesn't seem to be much difference in terms of sound between it and the JBL upgrade.
  15. That's a load of bollocks, I'm afraid. My C4 has been very reliable and I drive it around in extremely hot Australian weather in Sydney. I've done about 26000 kilometres (about 16300 miles) and it has been recalled once, though nothing to do with the drivability (just the airbag fix). Ok, fine, it does have a few rattles - particularly in the bloody doors - but its nothing that serious. I enjoy driving it and the looks it gets from passers by. While the build isn't up to Audi standards, the finishing is pretty good. As someone else said, if you hate Citroens so much go and buy a boring as hell Golf or Focus.
