  1. Well I've just got my C1 back after the bonnet respray and it looks like they have done a really good job. Fingers crossed I'll have no further problems with the paintwork.
  2. Time for an update. I took my car to the dealer and they took some photos of the offending spots on the bonnet and sent them off to Citroen. They have agreed to respray the bonnet under warranty. I should add here that no paint has chipped off the bonnet so these spots do not look like stone chips, which is why I guess they have agreed to carry out the respray. Well I'm happy for now. I'll report back on the respray in about 3 weeks.
  3. Yes, all my driving is on the motorway but my 2 previous cars were a Ford and a Hyundai and I kept them both for 11 years and 100 000 miles and they suffered no such rust problems. If I used to get a stone chip on these then the top layer of paint came off but the white bottom layer always remained so no rust ever developed. I wonder if the C1 does not have the same kind of base coat protection. Saying that the top layer of paint does not appear to have chipped off but I suppose the damage could be pin prick size which still allows the water in. All the spots are on the curved surface at the front of the bonnet. I'm going to see what the dealer says next week.
  4. I have a metallic black C1 which is 8 months old and covered 4000 miles. After cleaning I noticed there are about 8 tiny rust spots developing on the front of the bonnet. Surely this can't be right on a car of this age. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
  5. Thought I would give you all an update on my creaky front seats. The dealer fitted 2 new seat frames today and this seems to have solved the problem. I've still got the squeak in the back which seems to start after about 5 minutes of driving and only occurs when traveling over small bumps in the road. I think maybe it could be exhaust related. It is certainly louder if the parcel shelf is taken out or the rear seats are folded down. Will monitor for a while and report to the dealer if it persists.
  6. Well, I only weigh 10.5 stone so I don't see why the front seats should creak. I will see if the new seat frames make any difference and report back here. As for the squeaking in the back, I have lubricated the tailgate hinges and checked the other areas suggested but the problem remains. Maybe I'm being to fussy.
  7. I have a C1 Rhythm and both front seats creak. Mentioned this to the dealer and after investigation they are going to replace the seat frames next week. Has anybody else suffered this problem or am I alone? Also, I have an annoying squeak coming from the rear. Sounds like a small mouse and seems to manifest itself after traveling a few miles. Any solutions gratefully received.
  8. Hi downsman, I've always found polorised sunglasses resolve any dashboard reflection problems.
  9. I took my C1 Rhythm in for its free 1000 mile check up this week and mentioned the clutch noise as mine is identical to your description. They said it is just the Release Bearing and is normal. It's always worth getting it logged on the system though just in case anything should go wrong in the future.
  10. Only one reply to my question so far. Thanks TurboSlag. However, my engine sounds the same whether it is cold or up to temperature. Come on all you C1 owners. What does your engine sound like outside the car when it is idling? Is it dead silent or do you all get the slight rattly tick over sound like me. A few more comments would put my mind at rest.
  11. I think I need to clarify the sound. It's more of a rattling sound. A bit like the tappets rattling. More noticable when outside the car. Can someone confirm this is normal.
  12. Hi, Just bought my new C1 Rhythm 1.0 Petrol 3 door in metallic black on 30th June. Very impressed with it so far although I do have one question. Is it normal for these 3 cylinder engines to make a ticking sound when idling? I'm guessing it's because it has a cam chain as apposed to a cam belt. It would put my mind at rest if other owners could add their comments. Cheers.
