I've got my car booked in for a re-call in May, so i'll see how it compares to your ordeal, hopefully not as bad!!! I only phoned the service centre to sort 2 problems out with the car: 1) the service light is on way before its due for a service 2) when controlling the fron passenger side window from the drivers controls, the window works in reverse (when i want it to go up, it goes down n visa versa) But when I was on the phone the service centre said there was a recall on the car, to do with the chasis. I haven't got a letter through the post yet, maybe because the deal i bought the car from is now closed and the service said the recall was in its early days. Will see what happens when I get it back....

Whilst disc changers are being mentioned a lot in here, although its an Ipod topic, I'd like to ask about the disc changer. What is a citroen part number for a C4 disc changer and also, who is the manufacturer of it and what is their part number? The USB thing for the Ipod seem's the solution to have. Pricey but could solve everybodies Ipod woe's. Does this give you complete control over the Ipod that you can change album as well through the existing radio/steering wheel controls? As the law is clamping down on us more and more, this seems like the ideal gizmo to stop me changing the Ipod over whilst driving which is bad, but I'm sure we're all guilty of it when you've got it on random play, the gf's sugar babes or girls aloud comes on and all you want to do is put a manly album on like Oasis or Stone Roses!!

So are you leaving alone the back light and souly concentrating on the front light, which consists of three lights, two for reading (at the side) and the middle one? I'm unsure of the wiring of this, but I'll see if i can have a look inside mine to get the idea behind the wiring. I'm presuming the 3 bulbs are in series. How many LED's are you replacing each bulb with? This is probably irrelevant unless your using loads of LEDs for one bulb, so between 2-3 you should be ok. Also, are you trying to keep the independance to being able to turn the reading lights and main light without any of the others. Ive got a solution but in words its difficult to explain. Give me as much info as possible on what your doing with the front and back light, detailing how your wanting the switching done (if the same or different) and I'll produce a plan!

As im sure many of parents before me have discovered, long trips with kids in the car can prove to be a pain. I'm discovering this and want a solution.......... in car dvd!!! What im after is in-car entertainment for the kids, a couple of tv's in the back of the front head-rests and a dvd player and/or tv receiver to transmit to these tvs. Has anybody else done this, and if so how? Any companies to be recommended, ways and means to do it myself? What products are the best etc. Any advice welcome, apart from putting the kids on the roof-rack..........mother-in-law's already up there!

Have people been changing their head unit's or sticking to the factory fitted one? I have just the normal steroe that came with the car, not the JBL upgrade and dont have the navigation screen thing. Just wondering if people in this sort of situation have been changing their head units. Also if they have been doing, what about the controls available from the original head unit. By this i mean accessing the menu's for changing things like date and time, etc. Is it a case of you just have to be without being able to access the menu's, or are there headunits/equipment out there that still let you do it? Thinking of addind a stereo with more 'ooomph' for time when the jukebox needs cranking up

I usually just potter around town and too and from work without that much motor way miles. The 1.6 petrol (hatch) has only done 2750 miles, and my mpg is about 28. Will this improve as i do more miles or is it always going to be low because if the way i drive, without opening the car out too often?

The problem mentioned in this thread, the door handle sticking open and not going back after you have pulled it has led me to the problem of the door not shutting. I take it others have had this problem, how have you got over it? Is it a dealer job if the problem persists, or something that I could do? First time this problem occured i never realised there was a problem on the door and started to drive off. The door flew open and wasnt far of a Merc!

Im with grumpy on this one!!!! Anyway, after telling me the car was in showroom mode, they wanted to keep it over night to perform other tests the following day. I let them keep my car (took the Richard Ashcroft CD's out in case they're theives!) and the following day the service manager got in touch with me. This clown told me there was nothing wrong with it, and that the ecu hadn't registered any error codes that are generated when faults occur. However, the previous day a sales woman was fobbing me off with this showroom mode excuse! Some funny bugger at work claimed I was subject to this dodgey petrol that is causing havoc! Anyway, got the car back and will just drive it and see what happens. Nothing much else left to do bar put the richard ashcroft cd's back in the car and have a few renditions of human conditions!!

Just sent my car into my Citroen deal with a few problems: 1) On one occassion, driving down a road, car cut out with total loss of all electrics 2) ABS sign remained on during a drive, but went out when i went on my next journey (manual says could lead to break maulfunction if this remains lit) 3) Control available to driver for the front passenger window worked the oppsosite way round, intermittantly. When i wanted the window to go up, it went down and visa versa 4) The computer that displays numerically how many miles are left in petrol in the car, regularly shows _ _ _ (with more than half a tank of petrol in) Had the dealer contact me today to say that they have found the fault when connected to their diagnostics system, and that it is that the car is set in "Showroom Mode" Anybody got any light to shed on this?

The part 9706AG can be obtained from either, they both use the same part number so whichever offers the cheaper lead. However, i got mine from ebay, was lucky enough to find it on there for about £6/£7, whilst my local dealers wanted approx £20

Just a quick question on this topic..... On using this ipod lead that puts a 3.5mm audio jack into the aux in, the only connections that have been used are audio left, audio right and a ground..... just three. But on the aux in on the stereo, there are 12 pins. What are the other 12 pins for? Further to what are the 12 pins for, although being grateful for having iPod in my car, is there not a lead out there that can connect to the ipod (its comms socket at the bottom), and connect to the aux in, and will relate the track info to the screen? If a disc changer could relay the track details of artist etc of an mp3 disc to the stereos screen, could this not be done for an ipod?

Thanks for the advice, now I have my i-pod working in my car!!!! Surely one could be forgiven though for wiring the connector as the instructions said, as oppose to how it actually works!?!?! Not to worry, sorted now.

I wish the guy was like that with me when i had a crash. He was making his own lane as i was pulling out, the was speeding down where he souldnt have been and wrote off the front end of my car (This was some time ago, in a 206). The guy argued that i shouldn't be pulling out blind and instantly got whip-lash!!! Needless to say, the guy was a ***oops*** and when left to the insurance, deemed he was in the wrong becase the legitimate traffic was letting me out and he was driving in his own lane that wasnt marked. Serve's him right and the fact he was a w@nker with me, i milked it all i could. Whip-lash, loss of earnings through trauma, the lot :D

This has been discussed on here before, but cant find the topic, hope you lot don't mind a repeat of it. Hopefully somebody can provide me with an answer....... I purchased the 9706.AG lead to connect into the aux. socket on the back of the factory fitted stereo, with the opposite end having the 3.5mm audio jack to plug into my iPod. Today i've taken the car into the dealer to get the aux. input enabled, but when i've got home and tried it (i did take my iPod to try there and then but the battery had gone flat because i left it on!) it doesnt work. I've pressed the source button to get to the source of input 1, but no sound is played. Presumably, they have enabled aux 1 with the screen saying audio one..... Have the guys at Citroen enabled the right aux input? Or, if this is unknown, what aux input needs enabling so i can double check if they have done the right one. Just want to see that they have got there part right before thinking the lead itself is stuffed. Personally i'd of presumed this lead would use aux. 2, with aux. 1 being assigned to the disc changed if fitted, but i may be wrong. Please help because i'm sick of having loads of cd's fall out my glove box when i open it!

If i pump the brakes, there is a rather loud squelching noise that comes from what is roughly the passenger footwell. Hoping this is normal.......................

Couple of minor things, to see if anybody can be of assistance before i take a trip to my dealer to sort them out! 1) the small draws under the ait vents on the left and right side of the dash, they're stuck and now dont come out when pushed 2) found a random round piece of rubber in the foot well of the drivers side the other day. where's that come from?! 3) when changing over from radio to cd, the speakers all crackle dead loud for a short time 4) the sticker in the back window, with the dealer info where i got it from. It's very hard to pull off and wont budge, any advice on how that can be taken off? As well as clearing up the back window a tad more, i'm not being paid to advertise them

On this note, what head-unit would be recommended with built-in bluetooth, and that would take an i-pod as well? Got a thing for alpine but can't find a solution there without geting into daft figures.....

how much did it set you back?

C1 or bike?! ........... my choice would be pedal power rather than that 'thing'! Bit of a come down from a C4, thank god its only temporary????

Isn't this contradicting? Why have the function to just turn the sidelights on if illegal, but the manufactuer are ensuring the car is legal by the auto lights not putting sidelights on? Are we sure its illegal to use sidelights?!
-
The sales rep at my dealer said the button didn't need to be pressed when putting the key back, sounds like i will be pressing it from now on tho!

It's a first for me hearing about that, and them bad boys arnt cheap to get a new one

Two things that get on my tits a bit......... 1) the stereo controls on the fixed steering thingy, have a button to go back a track!!!!!!!!! Unless my car's broke, have the roller to go back and forward a track in cd mode, and the 'next track' button already on there, have that as source select? 2) The automatic lights - its always all or nothing. They're either off, or full headlamps are on, why does the auto function never just turn on the side lamps when full beams arnt needed?
