Hi, It's my first time on this site but I'd really appreciate some help please. I have a 1992 ZX 1.9D Avantage, 186000Miles....completely bombproof, runs off all manner of oils and diesels etc. I've owned it since new and it's never let me down. It's a low maintenance car but my MOT is fast approaching. I need to check the state of the rear brake shoes as I think they need changing. 1. Does anyone know what size socket I need to get the rear hub nut off please? My second and last question relates to noise from the steering/suspension. When I drive off of a roundabout (for instance) and I'm turning left and accelerating I get a mild knocking sound from inside the nearside front wheelarch. The car was doing this last year and went through the MOT. However, it's got a bit worst with 12months driving. The guy who does the more complex mechanicanical work on the car reckons the shocks were "loose" inside themselves....purely due to old age. The shocks seem to function fine (bounce + return) etc. He couldnt find anything else wrong. Does anyone have any experience of this please? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Cheers Mark
