I want to see a real one on the car first though! fine line between lassy and chavvy!
-
Maybe I went a little over the top last night.. Parked as close to fence as possible on drive, blocked it in with another car with no alloys, removed my tom tom holder from windscreen, cleared out everything in the car including ipod charger, put steering lock on… sat and watched all night out of the window with a shotgun. Well the last bit is an exaggeration!

am i being stupid though... what about limos? they have tinted glass that you cant even see though from the outside... maybe ill leave mine as it is!
-
I want one!! i think!
-
you've gotta be pretty gutted owning a car 2 hours before its stolen. Sadly its a world we live in now, often scum rules the streets. BLOODY CHAVS!! GET A JOB! sorry rant over...
-
trouble is i bought it after 6 months from a private seller... Ive just had my tyres changed though so someone must be able to get them off if it indeed does have them as standard on the VTS
-
well it survived last night, thanks for all your responses. Yeah we live in a 'nice' area - seems they are targetting new astras at the moment. So the anti locking nuts are standard? should I have been given a key? Its not somewhere stupid like in the boot is it? I know the ones theyve broken into and left on bricks have had their back windows smashed in the hope they could find the key to undo the wheels... All have insurance – but its whether we have a high excess and don’t want to lose our no claims
-
p.s. its a C4 2.0 VTS Diesel...
-
I dont live in a rough area but in the last week there has been 3 incidents of alloys being stolen and windows smashed. Having just bought some new tyres too i can ill afford this to happen. Do I need specialist anti locking whel nuts? Motosave have ordered me some - but do you think i could get them from halfords? Anything else I can do? I dont have a garage and am scared to leave it tonight!
-
Why is there a limit on how tinted your side and back windows can be? Mine are tinted - was thinking of getting them darker thats all... p.s. sorry i have habit of hijacking threads - i wont do it again!
-
wish i'd seen them... :-( im left with some ***oops*** ones. hindsight hey...
-
I want this doing (sound deadening), is that the correct term if I went to a car audio place? Don’t want to sound like I have no idea what im on about (which I don’t really!). How much is ‘not much’?
-
Bollocks - thats all I can say. I've been robbed hey! Nothing I can do about it either is there!?
-
thats the fella! haha. Are they pants?
-
off the top of my head they fitted marinello tyres? That sound right? Annoyingly they didnt even bother to valet my car inside or out... it was really dirtly inside - i didnt want them to clean outside but looks like I got neither!
-
Starting to regret the decision now - too late I suppose though!!
-
Cheers for the advice. They are fitting the tyres they could get hold of. If they only last 6 - 12 months then so be it ill absorb the cost of better branded ones later I guess!
-
Thanks! Just wanted a rough idea of what id be looking at... all in all the 20k service and two new tyres is goint o be under £400. Which I suppose is ok? Annoying, but ok! Do VTS 2.0 diesels eat tyres then? My last C4 didn't need any new ones after its 20k service...
-
Hi My 2.0 VTS C4 is in for a service today - just had a call that front tyres aren't road legal due to wearing. Quoted £81 each for new ones, is this right? I forget the make that he said... it wasnt one id heard of though think it began with an M.
-
its just 2 years old and its nearly done 20k - due in for its first service...
-
I got this warning this morning that read something like "Warning depollution filter failure" and there is a little orange light on my dash that looks a bit like a tap. Its in for a service in a few weeks - should I be getting it looked at sooner though? Glad I didnt get it re-mapped just yet I would have been paranoid as hell now!
-
I got mine booked in (2.0 VTS 138bhp) and they have quoted me £169.99 thats Reg Vardy York (well Evans Halshaw now)... Not too much of a travel for you?
-
im due for a 20k service so when it goes in ill mention it and give you the feedback here..
-
I noticed a difference between the gearboxes on a petrol and diesel (seemed tougher on the diesel) but didn’t notice it when I had the 1.4 VT… Yeah the juddering is annoying… wonder if anyone has had it looked at. I mentioned it when it went in once . As usual “no fault found” came back though… Interestingly it seems worse when im on a gradient…
-
Hi, I had a 1.4VT before upgrading to a 2.0 VTS and both do point 2 (The car seems to chake lightly when in gear with my clutch depressed, i.e. at traffic lights) I don't know why ive not posted this here as a question myself. I figured since both cars have done it its normal? it does shake quite a bit though - its annoying. More so in the diesel...
