  1. When the ignition is switched on there is a fair bit of clicking from near the battery. Is the relay anywhere near there?.
  2. Put everything back together and still wont start from cold. I towed the car and it started o.k. Warmed the engine and started every time with the engine warm. Let it cool down for 2 hours and will not start. Suspect glow plugs are at fault despite the guy who sold me the car saying they were new. So next job is the fiddly bit of removing them.
  3. All systems GO despite the dodgy twirly wiring tape round the column. Who'ever invented that was deffo a Frenchy. Grribbitt
  4. Had a scan at the pipes around the injector pump. Someone advised it may be the diaghram on the top of the injector pimp that had perished and found the pipe the goes from the diaghram to the air intake had a large hole in it. So i presume this is stopping the diaghram from operating in the pump. Have replaced the pipe and fingers crossed it should fix the starting problem when i get the dash back together in the morning.
  5. Cheers for the info. No problems removing wheel. Thanks
  6. Let you know how i get on. Thanks again.
  7. Thanks DickieG, It does start after pressing the bulb although it takes a while ( 3 tries about 20 seconds each). I will check the fuel lines once i get it in the air. Would you know if the fuel sender unit is accessable from under the car?. Ta.
  8. Can anyone tell me what type of head is on the screws securing the air-bag to the steering wheel. I thought they may be torx like on the dashboard but they dont appear to be. (P reg 1.9td). I want to remove the clocks but they wont go past the steering wheel. Also is it possible to drop the steering column as an alternative to removing the wheel?. Any help appreciated. Cheers :)
  9. "Does my bum look big in this?".
  10. "FIRST CLASS!"
  11. Bought my xantia 1.9td in November. When i went to pick it up it ran o.k. It has been stood since then un-used and when i tried it yesterday the battery was flat so we towed it and it started first time. Left it running for a couple of hours but when i tried it this morning the engine turns but wont fire. Heater plugs were changed when i bought it. The only other problem i know about is that there is a wire that comes from the second injector that goes to the loom , it has a pink, green and brown wire in it (the brown one has snapped.(what is this for?). Also , should the rubber fuel primer bubble be hard all of the time because when the engine has not run for a couple of hours it becomes soft?.
