On the subject of air-con , during this inferno called summer, decided to check at what speed and settings it becomes comfortable.On the day in question it was a modest 27 degrees.Comfort was achieved at 50mph ,vents fully opened blower set at 3.Now when we slowed down it was still comfortable.Infact , from standing to getting to a road where 50mph was achieved , usually luddite precautions taken , that is windows open .The only time I percieve the need for air-con is if likely to be stood in slow moving traffic frequently . On the subject of the modutop, our friends at Vauxhall will be including their version on the new Zaffira.It is likely to be a £500 option, taking the list price to over £15000!!!. This will be a long central locker with separate compartments , giving an external appearance of a low mohican.A small price for such a premium brand!! Be seeing you!!

Surely this proves the skittish nature of the motoring press.With the exception of Clarkson vs Vauxhaul, most of the motoring press play a clever juggling game of keeping manufacturers happy but not to the extent of complacency.No doubt launch events in some of the world's top spots help in this symbiant behaviour . Six months on and still smiling! Not that many miles on the clock at 3k, but in a two car family this happens .Beeby is a weekend girl at heart and stoically copes with the weekly shop, then to B&Q, or the garden centre without having to spill her innards inbetween.She also has another suitor in the guise of Dr Hemlock , who fell for her charms whilst helping to move a potter's wheel. As regards entertaining the children , Beeby has no equall.Forget the fact that you can keep all those toys, and DVD players food and drink to keep the kids occupied to Mars and back .Beeby is a play centre in her own right . The kids love playing games like dropping 1/3 seat down putting the cover over and playing dens , or dropping all the seat and limbo dancing , and all sorts of things that only the mind of a child can appreciate . Indeed , the girl is frugal, eye-catching, steady and sure footed , but no speed merchant , which actually means that she is fit for purpose , and at terrific value .The longer our relationship, the less I consider her faults , more I consider them idiosyncrasies .The only true downside is that this car would enhance or be consistant with my very individual personality .And it would appear that the main contributers to this forum are probably similar .But , where six months ago Beeby and I stood out, we are no longer alone.Still, better to be a trail blazer or trend setter , than to follow the trend . The Boys Are Back In Town!! The modutop is brilliant if you have children .Kids love cubby holes, and as the rear passenger lockers have 12v supplies in each , a recent purchase of a portable DVD player has made for peaceful travel.Also the roof rails are standard , as is the modubox, rear seat trays , arm rests , CD player .As for the issue of aircon, well so far not missed not having it.Kids get plenty of cool air through the roof vents . Mercifully , we have never been stuck in seious traffic .One caution .Roof rattle .Even following repair following service, there is residual rattle around the CD storage , resolved with a bit of window insulating foam!!
