Ok cheers mate. The handle appears to be secure but the back of the seat is still loose. When you lean on it it goes away back. I will try removing the trim to see if the handle has come loose though.

I have a 2002 1.4LX Xsara & the ratchet mechanism is faulty on the drivers seat. Neading to replace the seat, just wondering if anyone has done this & if it is a straight forward job or if there are any pitfalls to watch out for. Any info would be appreciated.
