I wondered if that was it atfirst but the last couple of times it's been dry and no rain for quite a while.

Ok best eat my words I thought it was fixed. The windows all still go up and down as normal however I was driving along today with the driver window open and all of a sudden it shut itself! Any ideas guys? Thanks again

Hi all, Me again ok so after all the help I finally went away in teh car. When I gto to our campsite I lowered the suspension to aid unloading long story short the next day the back was riding on the bumpstops and the front was normal. SO drove it to see if ti fixed itself but suprise suprise it didn't. So I called the breakdown people out who came out and he tapped the underside with a metal pole (looks like a steel cable attached to a wheel about level with the back of the rear seats) and it went up but was advised to take it to a citroen dealer. Being france I found one easily enough they put teh car on diagnostics and told me there were no faults but the fluid needed toppong up but it wan't empty. Any suggestions guys seriously thinking of selling this car it's just one thing after another. On the plus side did 1600 miles on less than 3 tanks of diesel :blink:

Hi all, Me again tanks for all the help with my windows which are now fixed. I am off to the continent on Monday so was cleaning the car today. The radio stopped working as through there was no power to it so I checked the fuse and all was ok (I tried a new fuse as well just to be sur) at the same time I noticed that my clock had re-set itself. I tried a couple of other radio's again no power so I tried the BSI reset. This made no difference and if I lock the car and leave for more than 1 or 2 min it won't unlock with the remote I have to use the key on the passenger side (driver side lock just spins round) the remote then works for the next few minuetes after the car is locked but then I revert to having to use thekey. The central locking works fine with the key and as soonas it's locked and unlocked the remote works fine until the car is left locked for a cpl of mins. Any suggestions guys? Thanks

It's Fixed!!!!! After fitting another brand new switch it works!!! Thanks everyone for all the help and advice.

Hi, me again. Ok so I have now checked the switch and all seems ok although it looks like it's been cleaned before. I have put a new mechanism in and put a new motor (complete with the black box that attaches to it) in. And still it will go down and not up the motor only turns one way. The passenger side window will work up and down and also responds to the button on the key fob to vent the windows but the driver side does not. I have aslso tried a BSi reset. Any other suggestions folks? Thanks

Hi all, Have tried that to no avail so stripped the door down again the mtoro only runs one way also noticed a steel wire hanging down inside the door so guessing it needs a new motor (and the little black bax thats attached to it) and a mechanism. Does anyone have any idea how to change this and is it likely to solve the problem? Thanks

Yeah I wondered about motor but thought that if it will go down then the motor must be ok but will try the switches thanks for the help

Hi, My 51 plate C5 has a problem with the drivers window. When you press the button it goes down but if try to pull it up it just goes down again. I used to be able to press the small button on the remote for the central locking and it would go back up. I found a BSI reset guide on here and tried that twice but now the window won't go up even with the remote in the end I had to take the door panel off. Remove the motor etc and manually lift the window before replacing the motor and gearing so it wouldn't drop down but now i'm stuck. Has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks for all the help

Hi I have a 51 plate C5 2.0 HDi. There is a plastic cover on top of the engine however this isn't held down by anything it appears to have four holes the two on the drivers side have something poking through them that looks like a flat headed screw driver and there is noting on the right howver underneath there appears to be two bolt shaped items with rubber centres. Does anyone have any suggestions what is supposed to be there and if so how you fit them and where you can get them from? Thanks

Just tried this as my drivers side window would go down (whichever you pressed the switch) but not up. It would however go up with the button on the remote. After trying this it didn't fix the fault and the remote wouldn't make it work either so had to take teh door to bits and remove the motor/gear and lift it manually then put it back together again. Can anyone think of anything else to try?

Hi, I have a 51 Plate CD with a faulty CD player first thing i'm planning to do is take the head unit out and have a look and clean the lens however if I do and therefore dissconnect it from the power will it need to have my VIN code re-programmed into it. If that doesn't fix it I was planning to install an aftermarket unit and get a wiring adapter however my local parts hop tells me that because I have the remote control stalk you can't get adapter leads (not too fussed if the remote doesn't work) does anyone know any different and will my dashboard display with the time/date/temp still work if I install an aftermarket radio. Thanks

Hi I have 2001 C5. Very occasionally the remote locking wouldn't unlock thet drivers door and you had to put the key in then it got worse and worse. Then all of a sudden the problem cleared itself up. Great I thought then in the last couple of dys it's started again except that when I out the key in teh lock just turn round and round and round. Theres no sign of anyone tampering with it and after a couple fo attempts it still unlocks with the remote. Before I take the door to bits has anyone got any ideas?

Hi, I have just bought a 2001 C5 HDi the radio in it works fine but the cd player doesn't work at all you put the cd in and it comes up with --TRK then eventually (after about 45 seconds) ejects the CD I have tried cleaning the heads any other ideas? Thanks
