The nearside tie rod end on my wife's C2 GT fell off the other night. Apparently the locknut came loose causing the threads to self destruct. The rod then fell off. Fortunately this happened at a junction, so the car ground to a stop with the left hand wheel pointing left and the right hand pointing right. If this had happened at speed it would have been very interesting. Our car is 2 1/2 years old, and has been fully serviced. The main dealer repaired under warranty, and has reported this to Citroen who may issue a recall notice. I would recommend anyone with a C2 to check their tie rod locknuts are tight.
