  1. Hi, had a similar problem& it is possible to remove the inside door panel with the door locked. You should hear the mechanism operating when locking unlocking using remote. If this happens chances are the dead lock motor inside the lock is not operating and tapping on the lock with a small hammer whilst operating the remote control lock & unlocking will possibly unlock the door. Unfortunately this lock when removed is sealed (riveted) but one is able to open it, but some engineering skills will be required to drill and tap the two riveted sections and use screws to reassemble it. Careful dismantling of this unit, with pictures to show relocation of the components, will help to reassemble the unit after checking micro switches and motors. A new unit cost about ₤86 but is more expensive here in S.A. I am happy to say that mine is sorted but I have fitted an emergency release just in case. I have pictures if you would like.
  2. Just been reading about your problem. Had the same about 2 months ago. My C5 started running very rough and gave Catalytic Converter Fault. I stopped switched off and restarted and every thing seemed OK, but a short distance down the road I got an Anti-pollution Fault displayed. Forum advice suggested I get it diagnosed, which I did and fault disappeared. Prior to this had a flat battery, which showed up on the diagnostic report and the Citroen Specialist said this could have caused the error. I have also been told that the Lambda sensor could be on its way. Life is about 50K miles from what I understand. My C5 still OK (I didn’t say that!) having done 120K Kms. Mine is also 2L Pet. 2001 Mod. Fortunately didn’t pay anything for diagnosis and could recommend my Citroen Specialist but he a bit far away in Cape Town. Good luck. ;)

    C5 Door Lock

  4. My left rear door locks and cannot be opened. Have had this problem before an found tapping on the lock mechanism whilst locking & unlocking released the door. When the door was opened checked the locking action and couldn’t find a problem. Spray silicon spray on it and put it back & after a month the door has locked again and cannot be opened. Any suggestions on solving this!
  5. I had my C5 checked out on computer today and the fault has cleared. They said it was probably brough about by a flat battery. A bit puzzling beacuse I had had the battery replaced the day before the problem occurred! But happy to hear that I don't have to do anything more. Charge for checkout - No charge.
  6. Thanks for your sound advice. I have decided to have the computer checked for errors before I take the drastic steps of having the C.C. removed. I will advise the outcome with the hope that they will be able to solve my problem!
  7. Thanks for your suggestion. I live in Cape Town South Africa and the thought did cross my mind but I think my local petrol station is reliable as I have been using them for the past few years. I have decided to have the computer checked for errors before I take the drastic steps of having the C.C. removed. Did your friends 206 come right by itself or did he have to have something replaced?
  8. I had a Catalectic Converter fault, displayed on the pannel which caused my C5 to run like it was running on 1 - 2 cylinders. I stopped switched off and restarted, revved the engine and continued with my journey. Everything appeared normal again until the ‘Anti Pollution Fault’ appeared. I have been told that the cure is to remove/bypass the Catalectic Converter and fit a electronic control box from the sensor, to fool the computer! Can anyone advise if this will disappear by itself?
  9. I just read your text. I have had a similar problem and found that if you turn the temp control to max. and the fan speed to min. and the air direction to all the positions and turn the air con off and then back on again to auto, the system resets and the temp may be contrlolled again. Hope this works for you.
