  1. My Visa came wit hthe Tuff-Kote Dinol anti-rust treatment system (what happened to that?) and when I sold it at 4 years old in 1985, there was no sign of rust anywhere on it - the mechanic who serviced it thought it should last almost for ever if it was looked after by its following owners. As to bonnets - the problem with the C8 is that yo also have to judge the front taking into account the length of dashboard in front of you, as well as the bonnet. I currently drive a Galaxy which "suffers" from the same problem, and I would not like to try to parallel park without the front and rear sensors which it has. It makes it easier to park than the Scenic I had before (which my wife now drives) and far easier to park than the Rover 820 that I had before the Scenic.
  2. I suspect that fuel consumption figures never existed in the days of the DS23 - they are a "Modern" EEC thing. However, if you click on the UK brochure 1970's for the DS, there is a mention of DIN fuel consumption figures - my PC's screen is not good enough to enable me to read them! Body construction is unitary/Monocoque with panels bolted on, or welded.
  3. Oh no, not the dreaded multiplex wiring :o Suspect that it makes life really difficult to fix any electrical accessories.
  4. Think you will find that it is a legal requirement for a main beam indicator to be fitted.
  5. Is it possible to get front parking sensors fitted as well as rear ones, to make parking easy?
  6. Most insurance companies should replace a car under 1 year old with another brand new one. Have you checked your small-print carefully?
