I have a 56 plate 1.6 HDI Exclusive, mine is also peeling, its done 45000 miles. Initially I thought the mechanic had scratched it with a screwdriver or something similar but I have now noticed it happening in other places. I just hope it lasts long enough until I replace the car.

How much did that cost then if you don't mind me asking?

Sealed, Or Not Sealed That Is The Question? Car Battery?
arrows replied to a topic in Technical Section
Looks like a sealed battery but I have had them in the past and prized the top off because they still need topping up occasionally. The cover with the numbers 063 looks like it could be taken off carefully but you will probably have to break a glue seal. As long as it is out of warranty there is nothing to lose! -
Yes my 1.6 HDi Exclusive gives the constant readouts of 42.5, 62.3, 72.4 etc - I can only assume it is due to the conversion from litres to gallons. I also find the computer very innaccurate - I have checked my fuel consumption manually and can confirm that it reads about 5 - 6 mpg on the optimistic side, so I don't take much notice of it now..

My previous car of 3 years was an 03 1.4 16V HDI Exclusive (55000 on the clock) and it would return 65mpg on average - it did not have a computer. I have now had a 56 1.6 HDI Exclusive for year and I am slightly dissapointed that after 15000 miles is only returns approx 57 mpg under the same driving conditions. I have checked the mpg by filling the tank and noting how many miles covered and how much fuel I put in when I fill it up next. I am also dissapointed with the accuracy of the computer which always tells me I an achieving 64.3 mpg when I know I am not. Also I have noted the increments in the computer readouts which are always something like 64.3, 65.6 or 67.3 and nothing in between which again leads me to think it's more something to look impressive rather than an accurate tool. Has anyone else noted the same.

So I am not the only one who has noticed such a difference in fuel economy between the 1.4 HDi Exclusive (92BHP) which I previously owned and the same model which I own now but the 1.6 version. I used to average about 65 mpg perhaps a little less in the winter even when it was being run in. I now, however only get around 55 mpg (about 470 miles on a tank when the low level light comes on) and the car has now covered 12000 miles. I suppose it will pick up now the warmer weather is coming but I am not optimistic it will be anywhere near the official figures quoted by Citroen. I have also noticed that the computer is rather optimistic in both the range and the actual mpg - it tells me I am doing about 61.5 mpg. Yes the engine response is much better than my old 1.4 HDi. On a side note has anyone noticed the erratic output of the mpg figures on the computer - it tells me I am doing either 61.5 mpg or 64.9 mpg (cant remember the figures exactly) nothing in between.

Helpjust Bought Wife C2 Vts 2004 With Navidrive But No Instructions
arrows replied to a topic in C2 - General
I have a Navidrive system in my 56 C3HDi Exclusive and have had the same problems. Unless you have the exact town or the town that the computer thinks it is in then you dont get the options to put the street name in. Have you tried putting in an adjacent town or sub postal area in? The worst thing about this system in is that there is no postcode search. Rob -
Check your heater contro, is not set on recirculation too!

Does anyone know what device can be plugged in to the glove box auxillary socket - also what type of plug does it accept?
-
Are you sure the fumes are not coming from the car in front. Try pressing the recirculation button if in heavy traffic - usually happens when a diesel car in front is pulling away hard.
-
Just found my 'other fuse box' under the glove box while trying to replace the fuse for my sun roof which failed to work for a couple of weeks then mysteriously started to work again. You can keep the glove box closed - get on your knees and look directly beneath where the fuses are in the glove box and you should see a black cover which you unclip to reveal a plethora of fuses.

Thanks for that Lee, I thought you were probably away - it makes perfect sense to me! Looks like a trip to the dealer then to get the annoying message de-activated. The car has to have some work doing to it anyway - would you believe that the front and rear door panels on the driver's side are a different fabric to those on the front and rear passenger's side? The dealers have taken digital photos to send to Citroen to avoid any confusion hopefully. The dealers are sending me a manual. Hope you enjoyed your hols. Rob

Hi all. I have a C3 Exclusive with Navidrive and as more of you here have Navidrive I thought this forum would be more apt. Does anyone get the banner on start up of the car saying EMERGENCY AND BREAKDOWN CALLS DE-ACTIVATED and if so dou you know how to stop it happening as it is beginning to annoy me. I have to press esc before the screen will clear. Also did any of you get a proper manual for the Navidrive - I have just bought my car as an ex demo, 5 months old and it did not come with one. Is it true that no speed camera warnings are provided? Does anyone use the phone facility and if so do you use another sim card as I cant see the benefit of this if you have to keep removing the one from your phone and puting it in the Navidrive slot or am I missing something. Finally can you do a search on a postcode? Thanks Rob
-
No, it does not work on older C3s (03 and before) mine being one of them.
-
I've still got the original rear tyres on my C3 at 50k miles and they have about 4.5mm of tread left.
-
Thanks for that.

To the technical experts here - my front wheel bearing has failed on my 1.4 HDI Exclusive (at only 47000 miles!). It looks to me that it is due to one of the oil seals failing. I have removed the old bearing and ordered a new one, does anyone know if it comes complete with seals or is this a separate order? thanks Rob

Are you sure you the air re-circulation button is not pressed in? -
When you open the door hold the edge of it and keep holding it until your foot is on the floor. You won't feel a shock this way. Hope this helps.

Damionh - Your car is the same spec as mine which is also an 03 reg. Unfortunately there is no trip computer or auto locking doors when the car reaches >10mph Rob

Glad to hear things are OK Reggie. My car was quiet over the summer - hopefully yours will be too!
