  1. The instantaneous readout on the C3 is calculated by the ECU & onboard computer. The same system is employed on the Picasso. Readouts or 999.99 are achieved due to the simple maths that are employed in the calculation. The update is only performed on the Picasso every 10 secs on early cars and 20 seconds on later cars. On the HDi engine if you are going down hill and touch the brake pedal you swicth OFF the fuel supply. The equation is Miles per gallon or distance traveled divided by fuel used. So you are still travelling so the distance is half a mile but the fuel used at that instant is zero. If you divide anything by zero you get infinity. The readout is limited to 999.99 or 99.99 MPG so it displays this. As soon as you put your foot back on the pedal the readout rapidly reverts to lower numbers. Whether the redaout is a waste of time or useful is upto the owner.
  2. Picked her up today. Looked really great in the showroom with a lovely black exterior and the matching interior. Have played with the toys, like the auto headlights and the auto wipers. The rake and height adjust steering wheel is a boon too. Glad to see that auto aircon is standard, have that in our Pic and wouldn't like to go back to manual or even no a/c. the engine is really eager to pull away but am holding back until she is bedded in. Hope this is a long ownwership not like my Corsa 10.5 months.
  3. Thanks for replies. the child locks won't be a problem as we are past that and the nine grand kids will be in child seat in the Picasso if / when they visit. A sfor the rest of no doubt the C3 is like its big sister the Picasso some good uns some very bad uns. The Picasso forum has been a wealth of help to many as I hope the C3 will be.
  4. Hi just popped in to say that am trading my Corsa 1.2 16V for a C3 HDI SX 16V. Colour is black with dark grey interior ambience. Currently also have 20HDi Picasso. Hi Alan C its's me Stimulator. Went originally to buy a secondhand C3 SX HDi but wasn't impressed by the light grey in the 52 reg Silver one. The mileage was 9000. Test drove an EX 16V HDi in dark blue but that had lower half of the dash in light grey. Mileage was high for 18 mths 26,000 miles BUT it went like the clappers. Anyway the dealers came within a few £ of the best deal I could get on the web so went for new one. SWMBO was most insistant that we didn't end up with light grey interior which the new model doesn't have. The SX has auto aircon which after the one in the Picasso wouldn't be without. Would have liked the cruise control but couldn't justify the extra money. looking forward to the 60+mpg and the £85 annual tax disc. Got a insurance from Screentrade.co.uk £169 Fully C and protected NCB. Delivery is now 1 Oct could be next week (10 days) but will be on holiday. Will post again when recvd.
