  1. Interesting. The coupe is bought by predominantly younger drivers but the five door has an even spread.
  2. If you do, use a good quality heatshrink, not insulating tape. I stll think you'll be suprised if you use the contact cleaner. If used it on everything from light plugs to engine bay fuse boards and it really does the job. Lee
  3. Love the new interior on the C6, especially those rear ones.

    Spotted A C4

BTW I spot at least 5 - 6 different C4s a day. Guess they're popular in and around Kettering. Rarely see a coupe and never a VTS (Except mine of course!)
  5. The opposing poll to the Coupe one. ;)

    Spotted A C4

Methinks a survey is a coming... Average age of coupe and 5 door owners. ;)
  7. You need to get yourself some spray on contact cleaner - about £5 from your local motor factor.
  8. I know that this was buried in another thread but if you are looking for replacement OE blades, then this place beats the £23 each that Citroen wanted to charge me. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=200120545783 :)

    Faulty C1

Well, I got another car! ...Twice!!!!
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eluBw3aVYXI and this is worthy of inclusion, just because its the longest this car will have gone without breaking down or catching fire!

    Faulty C1

The magazine you need to write to is What Car? They'll take up the fight for you. Ultimately, you should reject a car within 30 days if the fault isn't resolved. I did this once. Garage hated it but the customer is always right.
  12. Just had mine replaced on warranty. Guess I was lucky. Crap design though!
  13. I've had 350 miles out of my first tank with the VTS. That was using the new Shell replacement for Optimax. 99 RON Not bad considering I've had the climate on all the time and have given it the 'Governor' a few times
  14. Piccies please!
  15. Suggest that you might have an air lock in the cooling system. Run the engine from cold, open the bleed valves until fluid comes our. Don't forget to remove the expansion tank cap.

    My Vts Photos

Z3M Roadster is right - almost! . It is a 406 but the Porsche is a very rare phase 2 924 turbo. Soon to be moving on to pastures new!
  17. Just thought I'd post a few as a few others have: http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/528/hpim0866zl9.jpg http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/9307/hpim0868xh6.jpg http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/5273/hpim0865qi2.jpg http://img515.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hpim0865qi2.jpg
  18. Was told by a Chips-away guy that touch up pens are like sticking sellotape onto clingfilm. Just doesn't work. Have yet to see a truly good touch in that can't be easily seen.
  19. I'm hoping exhaust is ok. It should be at 2 years and 32K had a horrendous problem with the one on my C5 V6 - No-one makes a pattern one and a replacement from Citroen was £800!!!!!! Use a Xsara Picasso one in the end. Have heard that the crashy suspension is normal but just wanted to check.
  20. Have had my VTS for a couple of days now and am getting used to some of its quirks. One that I worrying me is that the front end is quite noisy and crashy from the suspension. I know that the car is rock hard but is there naturally quite a lot of noise from VTS suspension? I know it is a different set up to all the rest. The car is still under warranty and has covered 32,000 miles. In my Laguna, I had similar noises and these were due to worn bushes but the C4 feels tighter. I have read some reviews that said the same and that the suspension is not all that compliant but is this the general concensus? Also, I am always aware of the exhaust noise. Is this just the sportiness engineered in or should it be fairly silent. I have inspected it and whilst there is some surface corrosion, I can't find any leaks.
  21. Larger rims (18s and 19s+) have also got a tendency to buckle and distort more easily. Makes sense as the circumference of the rim is larger resulting in a flatter curve. The Offset is the more important issue as it is critical to the handling set up and as has previously been said, can result in increased wear to the bearings. I remember a few years ago all Vauxhalls had to have a 49mm offset and most after market alloys had 36mm. Some people said they didn't notice a difference but I went in few and the handling was absolutely dire= tramling, tramping, it was a nightmare. Bear in mind your insurance company will also have something to say on the matter...
  22. Of course, the other problem is weight. The C4 is lovely but it is a bit of a porker. To put it into perspective, I have a 1981 Porsche 924 Turbo phase 2. It only has 177 BHP but weighs as much as a Rizla packet. It regularly clocks 6.5 - 7.0 secs 0- 60. The weight distribution helps too (50:50 - The gearbox is mounted in the rear transaxle). However, it scares me witless, is a complete and utter thug and it'll smack you one if you get it out of line. What a lot of people don't realise is that a lot of upping BHP is an often expensive waste of time. True, more power can make the car faster but its more about the power to weight ratio and where the power is fed into the curve. Far more important is the torque curve (Check out the new Peugeot 207 GTI: Only 175 BHP but a massive 260Nm of torque kicking in at 1,600rpm! 0-60 in the same time as the N/A Clio 197) but again, if the ratios in the gearbox aren't matched properly, then this can often be a pointless exercise too. The VX220 is a great example of stripping to the absolute necessities. It doesn't need monstrous power to be frighteningly fast and both the gearbox and weight distribution are perfectly matched. tyhe:rolleyes:
  23. Seems a good price mate. Best of luck with the sale.
  24. Very neat solution!
  25. Just a bit of fun but what's the best colour? Colour choice can make a big difference at resale time, both in terms of desireability and value. What floats your boat or sinks without a trace? The C4 is a bold design and I think certain colours complement its strong lines. For me, Wicked Red looks gorgeous, especially on the coupe (And before you ask, mine's Black pearl). I also like the oriental blue but less so the Admiral. I think that Scott Yellow looks like baby's wee but that's just my opinion... Have your say!
