How can you tell if the thrust bearing is worn or is on its way out and what would happen if it went..!!

were driving along normal at about 40 mph when all of a sudden it lost all power and seemed like it started to run on 2 cylinders, i pulled over and tried to set off again but no powere at all.. someone mentioned the coil pack.. anyone heard or had this problem them selfs' here is a link to youtube to hear it and see what you think... cheers.. take idle stepper motor out and clean it with petrol and a tooth brush... works a treat.. cheers dave for that...!!

Cheers for that dave... is it ok to clean the lambda with petrol and a soft tooth brush..?? and is number 5 the map sensor.. also could you tell me what number 6 is as well.. cheers .

Cheers Dave.. the vacuum pipes were the first things i checked and they seem to be ok, i dont no where the idle control valve is..?? i have cleaned the stepper motor with petrol.. can you clean the lambda sensor..?

car keeps cutting out on low revs, if am driving and go to change gear the revs drop and cuts out, its wont idle either.. read loads about idle stepper motor, map sensor and fuel relays but does anyone no 100% what the cause is as it does seem to be a big problem with these xsara's.. cheers

sometimes under the button in the remote control gets dirty but you have to open it up and give it a clean on the circit board..

cheers guys but i have looked at all the wires ing the doors and everything seems ok.. someone in another group mentioned that it could be the micro switch...? any ideas as to where that is so i can remove it and have a look to see if i can mend it...thanks

The light on the dash does not come on anymore when i open the front passenger door but it does come on and off and bleeps when i am driving and on the LCD above the radio it says 'FRONT LEFT DOOR OPEN' it does sound like a loose wire but i have checked and double X 50 checked all the wires in all the doors but cannot find any fault.. can you take the unit apart, if so i know how to take the door latch off so i might give it ago...

Cheers kfk but if i take the latch off could i repair the micro switch myself, if not does that mean i have to buy the full unit..?

its been happening for just over a week now but it seems to be getting worse.. i have looked at the wires in the rubber boot and all seems fine but it does think that the front passenger door is open as when i am driving the light will come on and it will start bleeping saying that the passenger door is open but its not, then it will go off then back on again. i could lock the car with the key in the passenger door and that would lock all the doors but it will not let me now.. the problem seems to be the passenger door but i ain't got a clue as to what it could be.. with what i have said has it shed anymore light on you to think it could be something else....cheers
