  1. It's bolt on, had similar last year & repairers bought the wing in ready painted. Shame the police were too lazy to prosecute the (traced) hit & run idiot responsible.
  2. Brakes; been away twice for a week at a time this year, leaving the car parked up. Both times I found the brakes either stuck on the handbrake - not freeing off the drums, having to rev a bit and drive off to free them, and the discs sounded hissy as if scraping away for a while. It looks like the drums & discs need virtually everyday use in these beasts. Maybe the steel in the discs is more susceptible to rust than other cars as even a 2 day park up can cause the hissing noise from the brakes.
  3. @ £160 for a decent dealer; last one was £115 but rubbish dealer. If the car has no known problems then a cheaper dealership may do but if anything needs checking beyond the standard service list of jobs, avoid.
  4. A brief warning about Citroen's own touch up paint. The bright red dries to a darker crimson and stands out as a poor match. Don't know about the other colours and how well they blend in. It may have been a bad batch but an aftermarket paint would be a first choice for the red C1's.
  5. The C1's bonnet design is very vulnerable to stone chips with most of the curved surface exposed to the "firing line" of debris & with the winter salts the rust may have appeared more quickly if chipped. Do they appear to be chips, or forming from beneath without any damage visible to the top paint coat ?
  6. The 30,000 mile one is due, booked in for £99 plus VAT. Another dealer wanted £145. Is the £220 major service something out of the ordinary to have such an incredible cost ?

    New C1

Looks like something dragged out of a Pacific abyss. ...and to think I once thought the Ford Cockroach / Sierra was the ugliest car ever made. Why can't they leave well alone if the original design works ?
  8. Contacted Citroen UK HQ last year about this, and they claimed it would make no difference to the level of dirt pulled back against the rear. Doing @ 300 miles a week in winter when it's too cold to wash the glass as it just adds ice overnight, it seemed a good idea at the time.
  9. It's certainly making a mess of the not so durable chrome on the rear window/hatch lock body.
  10. Same happened 3 weeks ago, new mirror @ £7.50 from dealer, just a push fit. Make sure they give you the correct side as they are handed & the parts list gives drivers side which for a French car is the opposite one. The local Keystones had no interest - surprise surprise - but got the details & claiming of idiots insurer just to hack off the idiot. Any luck with reg. no. etc especially as it's an offence to leave the scene etc ?
