  1. but all is good in the world ;) serviced, MOT'd, passed no problem. av smoke reading...... 0.45 1/m, nice & clean even after 185k's !
  2. you can only do what you feel is right... a 'dog' is a 'dog' regardless of manufacturer, don't go on the opinion of a couple of people, if you get a 1000 replies then 'maybe' listen. i know people who've bought new cars & have had loads of trouble- DB7 in the garage more than out, 20+ codes everytime & would rather use a TVR to go to France! another guy with an Audi S3 same thing- 4 wheel drive clunks, rattles in car fault codes Renault Laguna- 2 turbos, 1 intercooler, wishbone bushes, shock absorbers... all 3 on cars bought new & less than 2 yrs old. i've been lucky with my C5, had MAF replaced, new radiator, heater resistor & a few other usual wear & tear bits & its never thrown up any fault codes. '02 plate now on 183k probably due for a clutch, maybe alternator soon i suppose but will do them as i don't want to buy another car just yet. would i buy another one? after seeing everyone else's major problems...NO!!!
  3. if it's one your looking to buy, i'd get the seller to fix/sort out & give some sort of assurance or at least 50% off the price :P
  4. or the diaphragm problem in washer motor?
  5. as soon as questioning whether to change or not comes up there's only 1 answer.....
  6. oops :) forgot they don't have shocks! its very clunky , as in little damping & feels like its 'topping out', seems as though it's jumping around side to side rear beam angles look ok, strangely enough i need to replace d/s rear tyre as it's worn on outer edge?
  7. 2.0hdi, may '02, 180k with 20-25k per year going on it. whats the rough mileage of things like clutch, alternator? rear suspension is a bit 'loose', shock absorbers? bushes? i'll probably get fluid changed in summer i've had rear discs changed, fronts are imminent i think, on 3rd crank pulley since 100k, back box replaced, middle section being done next week ( repair section not cat), tyres i tend to wreck not wear out (app 12 in 4 years) & h/l bulbs probably 8? MAF last year have i missed anything? plan is to run it into ground, its looking a bit battered & bruised, a real workhorse :)
  8. if you use the key, push key in then push a little more & turn otherwise as you say the key just turns
  9. again from memory.. was on holiday at time, oh what fun going into car factors, pidgin french asking for hex keys to then find out i needed torx  think it's linked by metal rods with cranked ends & plastic clips. unsure what my problem was, 3 yrs ago, got a feeling the latch wasn't opening using handle so took apart & put back together, no probs since.
  10. 'kin computer timeouts!
  11. from memory i think you push the cover towards the top of tailgate, the 2 handles are integral part of cover & 'clip' or hook into slots in metal skin
  12. photobucket, imageshack, flickr etc to host pics or e-mail pic to me & i'll put it up. PM me for e-add if needed.
  13. plastic cover to the wiper arm there's a micro switch built into the small lip, should hear it click. once you know where it is it feels natural
  14. No, i just turn it on & off 'old stylee' ;) i also couldn't be bothered to pay £50 ish+ to connect to the original stalk controls and use the dash display
  15. unplug the connector, 2 screws, replace. mentioned on here loads of times, SEARCH
  16. common prob on VAG cars, '99 Ibiza ISO connections, normally Red is perm live, Yellow switched? had to reverse these 2 wires to retain settings. got a pioneer H/U on C5 plugged straight in no problem. so much for standard ISO plug-in !
  17. just pull 'em all out one by one, easist way
  18. got two drawers in mine '02 SX AFAIK if you've got CD changer you only get 1 as changer takes that space?
  19. mines blown twice and each time there's been nothing left inside fuse so i know it was definitely the fuse! still doesn't take much to take 'em out & swap
  20. the manual may say that, as does my manual in the car, but it does say 'may vary in different markets' or words to that effect. if you have an estate the fuse for acc sockets is also the fuse for the manual susp switch in boot. ignore what manual says & physically check all fuses, i nearly got to the point of stripping mine down to try & find the fault, just had last thought to check all fuses & saved myself loads of hassle
  21. could be way off, but doesn't the trafficmaster have its own speaker? sure mine sounds like its near the glovebox on drivers side? think it may share the aerial though? i'm sure i'll be corrected if wrong :o
  22. just pull out all the blue 15 amp ones and look for the one thats blown.
  23. strange as it may seem , Auchan also sell Michelin tyres loose in the aisles! obviously have to pay someone to fit them, but it is fun to watch someone try to put 4 tyres in a trolley ;)
  24. go to top right of page press SEARCH button & type in rear brakes or calipers..hey presto
