dunno what your problem is but i recently worked for an insurance company who's statistics show that some stupidly high percentage cars bought from northern ireland are grey imports and not built to uk specifications!!! you could have been stitched up with a dodgy model??? just guessing but you may need to get your money back and buy else where???? sorry i do not mean to insult but looking at possibility! if this is the case you will need to take action ASAP!

not sure if this any help but my dad has a peugot 406 which broke down recently, i towed him 5 miles no problems at all! my ZX is the 1.9 Td model SX Zx, 1997 P registration. i aint got a clue how much the peugot weighed but gues a damn sight more than 1100 kgs. sorry if not the answer you are looking for but it may give you an idea what they are capable of???
