  8. If you have to take the door pannel off if its the drivers side your alright but on the passenger side the electric window swtich needs to be taken off from the inside of the dor pannel else you will wreck the switch there is a bolt under the handel on the door and under the speaker then there are lots of clips round the door i made a great tool out of an old flat screwderiver filed a V into it and bent the end to 45 degrees it fetches the plastic pegs out without breaking them its a sod to do mate just be very careful
  9. so i did it right then? any sugestions to what i can do to get the A/C working properly as in this weather its murder!
  10. Does anybody know how I fill up the A/C on the Citroen C5 or any car for that matter I had a completely empty system I purchased a bottle (13.4 KG) off an "internet auction site" stood the bottle UPRIGHT and filled the car with the gas. I have the correct couplers and such. filled the car up to 35PSI and I cannot tell the difference the A/c clutch kicks in and there is a sound in the car of air passing through the pipes I have initially opened up the opposite valve until I could smell 134A gas to bleed the system. I noticed on the A/C bottle I purchased that if I turn the bottle upside down you get a liquid? So do you fill the system with liquid or gas or neither? Any ideas Paul I drive a Citroen C5 2.0 MPI Exclusive SE on an 02
  11. i have a simalar problem with mine but the sat nav works but i cannot get the birds eye view screen or any audio citroen said its something to do with taking the battery off whilst the cd in the right side of the dash was working! its a load of crap but noby knows the fix to it Paul
  12. i agree i am not into "tarting-up" cars but my C5 has alloys and they look nice but i did catch the gutter the other day nasty scrape on them :) im such a dozy sod! this morning i tried to pull off the drive with the car in neutral it was a close thing as i nearly backed into the garage :D im sure you will get there in the end mate good luck Paul
  13. i know what you mean but IF and its a big IF you were looking for alloy wheels the 2 best places to try are ebay.co.uk and bargain pages you'll pick a set up for about £150 i had a set for my 306 for £100 with decent tyres to proper peugeot ones not cheap ones that snap when you go above 30 MPH citroen are ulsess at times they have got to reset the airbag ecu on my petrol C5 and they insist on replacing all the airbags i dont mind its under warrenty so ia int paying for it :) oh well let us know what u thingk Paul
  14. hi is there a metal ring in the hubcap? as that throws the legs out and makes it grip to the wheel Paul
  15. Hi i had a 2.2 HDI (as you can see from my earlier posts) and the most i could get out of that is 38 MPG i took it to citroen (spot of chasetown) and they said that its ok and the heavy diesel noise was "how its supposed to sound" i am also running a 2.0 C5 exclusive and all i can get out of that driving VERY VERY sencibly is 17 so again i took it to citroen under the warrenty and they are replacing the lamba sensor on the front of the engine and one on the exhaust whilst i was there i asked them to have a look at teh airbag light they said that "the whole airbag system will need replacing" and all that needs doing is the airbag ECU resetting oh and my battery is knackard...apparently so if your concerned about MPG try chaning the lamba sensor and like me youll get 5/10 mpg more if you switch off the air con hope this has helped Paul
  16. Hi there I own a Citroen C5 2.2 HDI exclusive. Hears where the story starts: I have owned this car for 12 months now, the car originally came with 3 years unlimited mileage warranty, 2 days after the warranty had expired the came belt snapped after only doing 33'000 miles. Some part of the engine housing had shredded the belt down to 3/8 of an inch Citroen would have nothing to do with it after long and argumentative phone calls they were adamant it was nothing to do with them as the warranty was out I replaced the cam belt myself and found that the exhaust rockers had fractured (which apparently is a common thing irregardless if the cam belt has broke or not) I have carried out a compression test and there is adequate compression on all 4 cylinders All 16 valves are intact I have put the cars engine back together and it will not start, the cam position sensor is in the correct place and correctly gapped the engine turns over the fuel lift pump operates. there is a 0.35 volt going to the injectors when a multimeter is put across the terminals on the plug from the cars ECU (my 306 2.0 HDI has a injector voltage reading of 4.35 volts when firing) and the suspension will not lift the car up when you lean on it like my other C5. The cars display is reading "ecco mode active" and nothing else will come up. The cars window is stuck down and won’t shut until the car is out of ecco mode I have re-programmed the cars key as suggested my Citroen and its still the same I have got an AutoData Auto X-ray 6000 diagnostic tool but this wont let me gain access to the cars computer without having the engine running Any suggestions as to what I can do would be very gratefully received My email is PaulCartwright_T4ULS@hotmail.com I think the Citroen C5 is an excellent car but I can’t help but feel it should be a little more user friendly when it comes to the cars running I own another C5 a 2.0 Petrol exclusive SE and this is a lovely car very very nice car Thanks again Paul
