  1. Recently had trouble with central locking on C3. Sometimes I found the car unlocked, and other times when I used fob to unlock the central locking the boot lid would pop up. Citroen wanted £45 to diagnose fault and repair costs on top. Set about it myself, and found that the little plastic plate you touch, when you put your fingers into the tailgate handle/latch was stuck up on one side. This therefore was making a contact all the time. To check this out, should you develop the same fault, raise the hatch and listen when you gently push the plastic strip up. You wil need to do this on the right and left side of plastic strip. If there is no clicking sound on one side then it is stuck up making contact. Remedy, you can either use WD40 or pull hatch lining out and remove handle and ease location of the plastic strip. Hatch trim comes out easily. I did the later and now have no problems with central locking. Very poorly made switching device. Hope this helps. navi

    C3 Suspension

Many thanks for posting. I have now had cups fitted at Citroens and evidently they are paying for them. I am contacting Citroen headoffice regarding refund for spring etc. Against the Citroen numbers logged on VOSA there would appear to be 980,000 chassis after my number that have not been recalled for mod. According to VOSA none have broken whilst on road. Of course this info is supplied by Citroen. regards navi
  3. VOSA have informed me that they have no incidents of Citroen C3 front suspension springs breaking whilst the cars have been travelling on the road. They say all have broken whilst standing still or instantly whilst pulling away. Now from my chassis number to last chassis number issued to VOSA by Citroen it leaves some 980,000 cars not recalled for modification to suspension leg to stop broken spring travelling down leg and dropping body work. Has anyone had a spring break whilst travelling????
  4. Thank you, excellent info on contact details. I have an issue with suspension springs breaking. One front one rear car having only done 18000 miles. regards navi
  5. I have a c3 2004 that has only done 1800 miles. So far have had one rear spring break and one front. If you check on vosa.gov.uk it gives chassis say from 26000000 to 28000000 as due for mod to suspension leg. I checked with Citroen and they said mine with chassis no. of 27000000 is not on recall. This mod is to stop the spring from dropping down bringing the car to a dead halt when it breaks and possibly ripping the tyre to bits. My front spring broke whilst sitting on drive over night, the car is automatic and there was one horrible noise when wife tried to reverse off of drive, it was completely stuck. If we had been on road we would have had to have a recovery vehicle with the resulting costs and damage. I am fortunate that I am able to do these repairs myself but my point is go and argue with Citroen about it. They are now fitting my car with the mods and they are paying for it. The parts only cost £18 for each side but it is money well spent if you think about it. They are easy to fit you only have to undo one nut, remove link bar from leg, slide into place do up two bolts and replace link bar. Remember to tighten link bar up with wheel on ground or it may be done up and not be fully inplace. Hope this helps.
