  1. Best mileage so far before the first light extinguished - 137 Greatest distance on a tank so far - 589. By then we were on just the orange light and it took 42 litres to refill IMW Oil Gauge? We use the dipstick.
  2. Update to the update Just passed 7,000 miles this weekend. (Since Early March delivery) Nothing to report. ;) IMW
  3. Aaaah! I've never noticed this. But now you've pointed it out I'll be listening for it. Curse you Alan! Well over the 6,00 miles now. Yesterday 114 miles on the trip before the top fuel light extinguished. Getting better still. IMW
  4. We reckon that 600 miles is the absolute maximum before filling up. Usually we fill at about 530 / 540 with no lights showing and the car taking about 40 litres in its 47 litre tank. Anybody prepared to push it any further? IMW

    My C3

Can I just say that I'm genuinely pleased for Pork Pie. I hope it isn't just a honeymoon period and that he settles down to enjoy his C3. I wouldn't blame him if he didn't, he's had an awful lot to put up with. I reckon the oil gauge is more gimmick than useful tool. I'll continue to rely on the dipstick myself. Good motoring Porkers! IMW
  6. This thing continues to pull surprises out of the hat. Watching an event last evening, we dived into the car to avoid a rain squall and were confronted with the little clock / frequency display reading "ECO-MODE" I'm guessing that the boot light had been on for some time and the C3 had made up its own mind that we didn't need it and there was no point in wasting battery power. Of course, since the handbook doesn't have an alphabetical index there is no quick way of checking. Anybody want to confess to having read the whole thing? IMW

    Wipers

I've just noticed that the intermittent mode on the wipers is speed sensitive. Can't remember reading that anywhere. Good idea, but nowhere near as good as the (almost) infinitely variable and very logically controlled intermittent mode on the Puma. Then the Ford doesn't have the steering column controls for the wireless. :o IMW
  8. Unless the tank is larger, or you are getting 60 mpg plus from the petrol version, it is mathematically unlikely. IMW
  9. I think one of the most convenient things is the way that on the 16V HDi each little light on the fuel gauge approximates to 100 miles left. IMW Nearly 6,000 C3 miles since March and running like a (very efficient) train
  10. Welcome to the C3 Owners Club, AKA "The Flat Forehead Brigade" <_< IMW
  11. Thanks. I think I followed most of that. In the olden days I used to have a car kit for one of the really big mobiles (We are talking mid 1980s here) The huge phone used to live in the boot and there was just a handset in the car. Sounds similar but without the wires. Or at least, without the wires to the actual phone. Do you mind me asking roughly what this would cost? Do you have to have a Nokia or do other manufacturers have the same thing? Why is it called Blue Tooth? IMW
  12. <_< Ermmm... What's a Blue Tooth kit? I presume it's something to do with a phone? IMW
  13. Moduboard. In that it adds greatly to the flexibility of the luggage compartment I'd say 'yes' it is a simple but invaluable addition. Certainly haven't been conscious of it using space that we otherwise use, but so far the car has only been used for the daily commmute and evening recreation trips (boot empty) or the supermarket and d-i-y runs. Haven't even had the rear seat folded yet, which is probably when it really comes into its own. Porky, if you really find it a problem why don't you put it up for sale here? Thirty quid in your pocket and all that extra space you need? IMW
  14. Appreciate where you chaps are coming from (Pork/Moose) and you have my every sympathy. But honestly it's not smugness, I can only speak as I find and our particular C3 is a little cracker. We choose it after testing quite a few other cars. Inevitably you accept that it can't win on every account (Slower than the SEAT, notchier gear change than the Fiesta) but it really does do what it says on the tin. As you can see, with nearly 4,000 miles since March 5 it's not being cossetted. I'll report back honestly on every problem (Want to hear about the soft paint on my Ford?) Even having paid 55 quid for the Moduboard that somebody (Was it Alan FC?) got for 35 quid. IMW
  15. Well nobody told us the waiting list for servicing would be that long! We booked it in when it had 1400 on the clock and it was actually completed with nearly 4,000 showing. But no dramas. Nothing to complain to the dealer about, in and out in just forty minutes including a pressure wash. MPG seems to be settling over the 60 mpg now as the engine loosens up. The poor Puma hardly ever gets an outing anymore, the C3 is the car of choice. Sorry, bit of a boring report really, but I can't invent faults if they aren't there. IMW
