  1. Found it ! It's a white plastic allen key type screw thingy - a few turns and all is well.
  2. Right, this is driving me nuts. I live in a rural area and a lot of my driving is on country roads at night where there are no street lights. The current pattern of my headlights is causing havoc as I am convinced that the head lights are shining in a downward direction thus limiting the distance I can see up the road. As far as I can make out, the headlights are only adjustable for height to compensate for load. It looks to me as if the NS light is OK-ish whereas the OS light is angled acutely downward. Does anyone have any idea what kind of pattern head lights should give out ?
  3. Having just go the beat of burden back from a front end smash, I am convinced that the OSF head light is pointing downwards more than the NSF. After a quick peek under the bonnet I have noticed that the reflector for the light swings up and down (I assume this is how the internal height adjustment thing works) when you push it but is there a way to set the start and end points of the available adjustment ?
  4. Excuse the late joining of this thread but ..... I've got a 54 2.0HDi and from new the horn didn't work and some other dashboard thing (can't remember that far back). Turned out it was this BSI unit and it was replaced, was spun a long story about it having to come from France. So I told the dealer it was ilegal to drive on the road without a horn and what were they going to do about it. BSI unit arrived a bit sharpish. IMHO Citroen electrics are dodgy at best, of the two Blings I've had neither have been free of electricial problems both major and minor. A friends C2 was handed back as the dealer couldn't get it ro run for longer than a week. I now have a random beep from the dash that I have nicknamed "Bernard" and whenever the beep sounds, teh family shout "Bernard" as in Norm from Cheers.
  5. As the nights are getting darker, I noticed that the interior lights were not coming on when I was opening the doors. So I call up Belmont Citroen and they tell me to bring it on in. After a day's investigation, they tell me that the BSI unit is faulty and can I bring the Bling back in next week. During this time I notice that the brake lights aren't working and tell them. They say this is probably the BSI unit and all will be well when the new unit is fixed. The new unit is fitted, the interior lights now work but the the brake lights are still inop and there is now a bleeping coming from somewhere in the dash. I take the Bling back to them and they say that there is nothing wrong with the brake lights and the bleeps are from the new BSI unit which can't recognise my non-standard radio unit. I suspect that they have realised that they forgot to plug in the brake light connector and bluffed their way out of it as the brake lights were working when I left the dealer. Wrong ! By the time I had got home, the brake lights were gone again. So back I trot today and Belmont eventually admit that there is a fault in the brake light switching circuit and replace the switch. Not bad - it took only three attempts for them to get my brake lights working.

I got rid of my Gold Bling after I hit 60,000 miles after 18 months, my silver Bling is on course for the same mileage but I'm looking at trading in for the Pug equivalent - only to get away from Citroen servicing. My 25,0000 service cost me £180, the 37,500 service cost £300 including new front disks and pads.
  12. Here's what I remember from fitting my JVC. The Bling has a nearly ISO wiring connector. I got a secondary connector that allowed me to reconnect the JVC to the ISO connector - and rewire the constant live and the switched live so that the head unit would switch off with the ignition. IIRC, there was only two wires to swap around. If you get stuck, I'll whicp the head unit out of the dash and let you know where they all go.
  13. This happend twice in quick succesion to the Gold Bling - an 03 plate - but has never troubled my Silver Bling - a 54 plate. I have the seats up and down regularly and so far so good.
  14. So I lost the link for the forum when my HD crashed some months back but now I've found it again so here goes. My Silver Bling - a 54 plate - stopped lighting up when I open the doors. After an inspection by the dealer (Belmont in Stirling), they have deduced that there has been a short in the rear speaker wire which has caused the BSI (?) to draw excess current which would stop the interior lights coming on when I open the doors or pop the locks with the key fob. So nect week I have to hand the Bling back to have a new BSI fitted ? As an aside, I decided to chance my arm and phone up the garage that used to service my Pug 406 when I had it. They said they would be delighted to service the Bling as it was identical to the Pug partner and they had all the gear. So they give me a discount for paying cash, they don't charge me vat and I am supplied with a courtesy car without even asking. And they can do the saervicing at short notice, phone today and book th eBling in for Monday morning for the 36,000 mile service. A big difference from Citroen service.
  15. The speakers are Pioneer TSG1718's. There are a more expensive version at about twice the price. I got them from UK Audio Shops - www.ukaudioshop.com So far I have only done the door speakers and they were very easy to fit. Take out the old ones by twisting off the grill (mine had already fallen off) undo the 4 screws and a plug. Plug new speaker wires into wiring loom socket, screw into door, fit new grills. About 20 minutes including crimping the connectors on to the new speaker wires. HTH
  16. Just fitted a set of Pioneer speakers to go along with my JVC CD/MP3 player and boy is it different. The Pioneers are a drop in replacement for the standard ones and took about 20 minutes to fit. In comparison to the weedy factory fitted efforts the sound quality is astounding. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not a big HiFi kind of guy, the JVC cost £90 and the speakers were £25 for the pair, delivered top my door. A huge change for a little cash.
  17. I get my tyres from Costco. Michelins or BF Goodrich. Works out at about £80(ish) for two tyres fitted and balanced. They even rotate the backs to the front for you.
  18. Why should I pay to fix a design problem with my new car ? I must phone Citroen UK and ask them how many failures they need to record before they do something about it.
  19. 3 weeks into the life of the silver Bling and the liners popped out when I hit a puddle.
  20. For information porpoises only, according to the handbook the low fuel light indicates that you have about 30 miles of fuel left. I reckon that's roughly about 3 litres of diesel.
  21. Filled up the Bling with diesel the other day and (aftedr running it for 20+ miles wirth the low fuel light on) and it only took 46 litres. Filled it up today when the light came on and it took 48 litres. The handbook says the tank should hold 60 litres - I get nowhere near that. How does everyone else get on ?
  22. Turned up on Wednesday morning 9am to get my comms unit changed which would fix the horn adn the airbag light. "Ummm, Errrr, Ummmmm" says the service man, "The parts aren't in and won't be until 29th October." So another wasted journey because no one at teh dealer could be bothered to phone me and let me know. I created hell and after two days they offered me a C3 courtesey car while mine waited on the comms unit. What use is a C3 to man or beast ? I bought a Berlingo, I need a Berlingo and the only thing they were willing to do was lend me a C3.
  23. Ah well. It was too good to be true. I took the new Bling for it's 1,000 mile service (a week after I got it) and had my latest run in with Citroen service. The horn doesn't work and the airbag light comes on all the time. Service man tells me that they cannot fix these problems as I have fitted a JVC CD player which invalidates the warranty. I march round the corner and tell the sales person I want my old Bling back as it worked with the CD player. Turns out that there has been a change made to the multi point wiring and the diagnosrtic machine used by the service people can't work unless the original radio is there. Cue much high blood pressure and heated discussion with the service people. I put the original radio back in (which takes 5 minutes) and an hour later they come to the conclusion that ........ wait fo it ............. the horn doesn't work and the air bag light is coming on. They're attitude is that it is up to me to have the original radio fitted everytime I hand the Bling in for a service. Somehow I don't think that it's my problem when the tools they want to use don't work on my Bling, get different tools that work !!
  24. My Bling was an 03 2.0 Hdi with no extras. I had clocked up 60,000 in 18 months. According to the dealer, they were going to send the Bling straight to auction as it had too many miles in too short a time for them to stick in on the forecourt. The model I got in exchange was exactly the same apart from the colour (which I like better).
  25. Is it just me or ....... does anyone else suffer from the wheel arch liners coming loose. My Gold Bling had the wee fixing things replaced 6 times.
