  1. If I were to apply pimped out window tints to my Bling, how much would I need ? Normal car kits seem woefully inadequate.
  2. So here's the thing ...... Went back to Belmont Citroen in Stirling to get them to fix a couple of problems before the warranty runs out (60,000 miles in 18 months) and I "bump" into the girl who sold me the original Bling. Starts to tell her all the woes I have had with the service over the last 18 months and tell her that it will be a cold day in hell before I reccomend Citroen to anyone. Hmmm, says she. Howabout you give my your Bling, I give you a new one and you just continue to pay what you were paying for the next three years ? Nah, says I, wouldn't work. I go home, look up the value of an 18 month old 2.0 Hdi with 60,000 miles on it, cry at the pitiful amount Parker's thibnk it's worth and come rapidly to the conlcusion that a new Bling might not be a bad idea. One week later I have an Artic Silver 2.0 Hdi 54 plate Bling, £500 quid in various cash back / trade in deals and a new 12 month warranty. Happy ? Me ? BTW It's amazing how many things work loose in 60,000 miles. The new Bling feels great.
  3. Got a reply from Citroen Retail World in Glasgow - eventually. Nearly three months after writing to them Ireceived a letter which in a round-a-bout sort of way says. "Not our fault." What they did mention was that they have seen instances of the oil filler cap working loose on a few 2.0Hdi engines of it's own accord. So be aware - it could happen to you. Citroen service - my *rse !
  4. Be careful ! I have a 2.0 HDI and it turned out that my clunk was a broken engine mounting. Take it back and bitch like hell.
  5. Back in June, I had my Bling in for a service. Got a phone call later that day telling me that the brakes needed cleaning and re-adjusting. Possible cost £70. I informed the garage that they had carried out brake cleaning, re-adjustment and re-lining at teh last service - about 3 months before. They said they would look in to it and the problem miraculously vanished ! Got the Bling back and again despite promises it hadn't been washed or cleaned. A day or so later I notice that the engien is sounding rough. I phone the garage and they tell me to bring it in the next morning "for a quick look". At home I discover a pool of oil in the driveway and a check under the bonnet reveals that the oil filler cap is missing and the contents of the sump have been sprayed all over the engine compartment. I find the filler cap down the back of the engine and top up the oil. Strangely the oil which was all over the engine and the driveway was black and dirty - after only two days ? I take the Bling back to the garage at 8am the next day and they say they will have a quick look. I tell them it needs to be quick because iI have to be at the airport for 9:45am. After an hour I enquire as to what is happening and am informed that they have removed the steering wheel and the steering column to fit a new indicator stalk - a problem that was not fixed at the service. Needless to say my bllod is boiling and I am late for the appointment at the airport. Later on, when I check the Bling, I find out that they haven't bothered to change the oil, just clean the engine. I also notice that the washer reservoir is empty - after I was charged for washer fluid. So I write to the garage and hear nothing. 4 weeks later I contact Citroen UK and they tell me to write to the franchise owner. I do this and still nothing. Early August, I contact Citroen UK again and they ask me to forward all correspondence to them and they will deal with it. I do this - and hear nothing. Lo and behold, today (26th August) I get a phone call from the garage telling me that they have received my complaint and are dealing with it. It has taken 2 months for Citroen to acknowledge that I have made a complaint. God only knows how long it will take for them to do anything about it.
  6. Righto, Eventually got round to rewiring the CD player as you suggested but to no avail. I tried to unwire the steering column control but have no idea what I am looking for. There are three connectors at the back of the column blue, brown and grey. I tried disconnecting each of the three in turn but none of them allowed the clock to update. Andy
  7. I've noticed the puddling problem once before. It was when there had been a heavy fall of rain and there was a lot of water "sitting" on the tailgate. It drained down the right hand side into the back. Most annoying as I had some PC bits there at the time.
  8. Okay Dokey. I dosconnected the wires as advised. Turned out that only the green wire was connected. When I disconnect that it cuts power to the CD player. Plug it back in and the CD player works. Andy
  9. >I fitted a Sony CD/MP3 player without problems, have you disconnected >and insulated the 3-wire data bus from the back of your new head unit? >You should also remove the steering column control. Wooaaaa there boyyyyyyy ! Can you make the instructions a wee bitty simpler for the hard of understanding ? What 3 wires and where are they and what do they look like ? Cheers Andy
  10. Checked my mileage yesterday. Filled up and set the trip meter. At half empty, the trip meter was showing 300 miles. I am assuming that the bottom half of the tank will empty quicker but I would guess that around 500 miles per tank would be reasonable.
  11. I've got the 2.0 HDi engine and can't fault it. It seems a bit revvy in 1st gear but I think that's because the ratio may be a bit low for the engine. Plenty power, economical and with the added bonus of diesel economy. My father-in-law is a taxi driver and has the same engine in his cab, he laughs at all the other drivers with the old Ford engines.
  12. I eventually got round to removing the radio cassette from the dash and fitted my trusty Sony CD player. The Sony slotted in a treat and works lovely but the clock display on the dash has gone mad. The clock comes up when you switch on the ignition but then doesn't update, the date had gone completely. The door open warnings appear but then don't go away when the door has closed. So the question has got to be is there a CD player which is compatable with the existing set up. I have tried to look at citroen.co.uk pages but the prices are daft. Ideally a multichanger that slots into the existign radio would be good so if anyone knows what makes can be used then let me know.
  13. I know this is no use whatsoever but I've got a 2.0 HDI and I get roughly between 400-500 miles per tank depending on how hard I clog it on the motorways. Stick to 70-75 and it sips the diesel, puch it to over 80 and it gets a bit thirsty. Like you I do a fair mix of roads but I don't think I could live with 280 miles from a tank of unleaded :)
  14. "Daily Record" ? Local ? What dealer did you get yours from ? I used John Martin in Stirling. Took ages but worth the wait.
  15. Well, The Berlingo is nearly two weeks old and I am averaging close to 1,000 miles per week. Phoned the garage when it was 5 days old to request the 1,000 mile service and was told I would have to wait 10 days before they could book it in. Looks like it will have nearly 2,500 miles on it before they get it ! I think my Sony CD player will slot into where the radio is but will loose the steering column controls and the central display. So far I am listening to talking books from the library ! I looked up the hand book and it appears that the radio or CD player is coded to the cars ignition system so you can't swap units between cars. Cheers Andy
  16. Well, Picked up the Multispace on Wednesday and was told the first 1,000 mile service was free. Looks like I'll be getting that on Tuesday. Loaded the beast up with all my gear (I'm a service engineer), two kids, wife and collected several more bags and boxes on my travels. I am still highly impressed with the space inside even with the boot area full. The kids had room to move around and the engine never felt stressed. It was good fun zipping past the Fiat Doblo on the M-Way. Anyway I read the radio manual and it appears that each Radio / CD Player is matched to the cars electrics therefore getting a CD player from a different Citroen is a no go. Looks like it's got to be a multichanger.
  17. Just taken delivery of mine, a 2.0 HDi and it's a blast ! Had to wait nearly 10 weeks for delivery due to demand. The dealer I bought it from had ordered 15 to see them through the season and sold all of them in a matter of weeks. I had a Peugeot 406 1.9TD and the only thing I'm missing is the CD player. Anyone know if a CD tuner from any other Citroen's will fit the Multispace ? Cheers Andy
