  2. There's no need to cut wires! You can buy a wiring adapter, it looks something like this: http://i2.ebayimg.com/02/i/04/b0/89/7d_1_b.JPG That photo came from eScamBay where they are charging too much as usual, it's cheap from a Citroen dealer, cost me £3.50 All the adapter does is terminate the multiplex wire to nothing so it doesn't ever reach your aftermarket unit, and links the permanent live to the switched live. The Blingo radio doesn't have wiring for a switched live, unless you do want to cut wires and take a feed from somewhere else. I think the cigarette lighter is switched? I think most problems are caused because people have not been using the adapter, therefore 12v is blasted down the multiplex wire screwing up the electronics, then it's probably already too late!
  3. I've been looking to buy and fit these Pioneer TS-1785 component speakers in my Blingo: http://www.pioneer.co.uk/images/products/carspeakers/pioneer/ts_1785_detailpage.jpg You can get them from lowcostcaraudio for £40.99 There is a product page on Pioneer's website which says they fit the Blingo. The only thing that put's me off is when you read the full brochure it says you may have to modify the mounting for the door speaker, but it doesn't tell you what needs to be done. I don't fancy drilling holes in the door!
  4. Not only were they around the lowest quote for a 1.6 Berlingo but if you buy online via the www.quidco.com site you get another £100 cashback! Therefore as a 35 year old with full no claims living in dodgy central manchester I got my fully comp protected bonus insurance for £270 ! Bargain
  5. I almost didn't find my way here from the URL, www.citroenpicasso.org.uk ?! Definitely need more discussion and info here, particularly service and technical bulletins, such as the recent recall for suspension mounting changes.
  6. I've just had the 2 yr/25k service done, it was supposed to be £165 but only cost me £120 as the assistant who booked it told me the wrong price and so they honored it :D I reckon it's fair anyway as the car has done less than 6000 miles and £120 is a lot for what is basically an oil change.
  7. thanks for the help, i tried a local audio shop but they weren't much use, could hardly be bothered helping me, but he did quickly rewire the iso connector for my pioneer stereo (it has repluggable connectors). now its wired with both the permanent live and ignition live both going to the permanent live on the car, so i still have no way of using the ignition to turn the stereo off? the wire connected to 'radio multiplex' is now disconnected completely.
  8. Hi ! Glad to see there is a forum for the Berlingo which I have recently taken on from my Dad, a bit of a change from my previous car, a Ford Puma! I think I could fit the Puma in the back of the Berlingo  I've posted a question about fitting an aftermarket stereo in 'customizing' forum, if anyone can help? :D
  9. I'm looking for info on installing an aftermarket stereo in a 2003 Berlingo Forte. I've been warned by Citroen that changing the stereo can cause problems with the multiplex wiring. Does anyone have any experience of replacing the standard radio/cassette unit? The original unit is a VDO RC260 radio cassette and I'm going to fit a Pioneer DEH-77MP cd/mp3 player. I've checked the wiring and it looks like the RC260 uses standard ISO connectors, however the wiring doesn't match exactly on the Pioneer, there is a wire for permanent battery(+) which would be wired to the connection for 'radio multiplex', this doesn't sounds right! The citroen dealer said there is an interface wiring kit which costs a few pounds which solves the wiring problems, does anyone know if/where I can get this? Also I assume there is no battery connection to the ignition on/off, there only appears to be a permanent live feed to the stereo, I am right? Cheers
