  1. just checked my immobiliser light, goes off almost instantly, my book says it goes out as soon as its confirmed you've got the correct key which should take the immobiliser milliseconds
  2. I had squeaky brakes on mine, swapped them for mintex discs and pads all round no squeals now. Not come across any others but i could check the immobiliser light later on tonight.
  3. I'm running a 03 plate 2.0 HDI 100k on the clock, not had it for long, last full tank got me to 723 miles, part of that was a round trip to manchester, which is about 450 miles from my house (would've done more!) would need to work out mpg but i reckon somewhere around 40-45mpg
  4. If the rad is newish, its possible that whoever fitted it didn't bleed the air out correctly when they fitted it. I've no idea how to bleed air on the AX so maybe someone else could help on that, but i'm pretty sure thats what it is
  5. as per the other reply its your traffic master light

    C5

nothing wrong with my c5, 2.0 HDI. best car i've had so far and i've had a few. and everyone knows autos are rubbish for fuel economy. thats why road tax costs more! I got 723 miles from a full tank :D
  7. Just to add to this, the rear wiper was an optional extra on the hatch, costs £250 when getting it on a new car, so would guess about the same if you really wanted it added on.
  8. only other thing i think may work is if your stereo has an option to turn accessory mode on/off. I have this on my panasonic radio, which stops the radio from turing off after a few mins, I'm not sure if this is a feature on kenwood radios. You'll need to check your manual
  9. I had a similar thing when i had my pug 106 and a kenwood stereo a few years back. at the back of the radio should be a yellow and red wire with connectors in them, what you need to do is put the red wire into the yellow wire and the yellow one into the red wire. the wires to swap are the ignition wire and the battery wire as shown in this picture, this should be mentioned in your kenwood manual. once done this it should stop the problems. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/daffy4895/kenwood.jpg
  10. I tried some flat blades off ebay too, they look good but don't offer as much contact and, any speed above about 55mph and they started to judder, went back to bosch ones. As for the HID bulbs, I got the full conversion kit off ebay. never tried the HID look bulbs but they might be better than the standard ones for the price its worth a try.
  11. I also thought the head lights are quite dim to what i've been used to, I think its a citroen thing. I changed mine to some 6000k HID bulbs. as for your wipers try cleaning the wiper blades with white vinegar, should help. i've found however that bosch wiper blades with a metal strip running along the length of the rubber give the best contact althought about £15 each!!
  12. it sounds to me as if you have an electrical fault somewhere, a coil pack shouldn't fail that soon, you could go to a normal machanic, but my advise would be to find a auto electrician as this is what he is trained for. he'll be able to track down an faults (or not as the case maybe) that casued a faulty coil pack. the labour charges you've mentioned are about average for a specialist, a normal machinic would charge around £30-£40 per hour, but he probably wouldn't find an electrical fault
  13. I've come across this in a few other vehicles, and its usually a fault with the electrics behind the dials. Although it can be further inside, you should check the dials first to eliminate them
  14. i'm not to sure why the gear box is sluggish, but when the accelerator is pressed right down in an auto box, you will engage 'kick down' if the car is in the correct rev range it will drop a gear as it believes you need more power to do a manoeuvre, i.e climb a hill or over take someone this is a normal feature of all auto boxes. i would get it looked at, as suggested because it is sluggish
  15. i'm not sure why everyones having problems changing bulbs, changed my H1 bulbs in about 10 mins both sides on my 03 C5 estate, only the near side one was a bit tight because of the battery, haven't tried the sidelight bulbs but they don't look to difficult to access
  16. A friend of mine has offered me some alloys for my 03 plate c5, they have come from his 05 plate c4 but niether of us are sure if they will fit. i would go and get them but as he lives 300 miles away i thought i'd check first Thanks
  17. maybe a little late but i replaced my headunit the same day i got my C5 and it has caused no issues. other than i can't use steering controls as i didn't get an adaptor cable and display on dash no longer shows radio stations and the such
