  1. Put the car in for it's first MOT yesterday, but when I picked it up I noticed the clutch was stiffer than normal. Got home, did the school run, then went out in the car yesterday evening, arrived at a junction, dipped the clutch and loud BANG followed by car jerking forward and stalling. When I started up again and tried to drive away, the car would only creep forward when the clutch was fully raised. Eventually recovered to Wilmoths in Folkestone. They were stripping the clutch down this afternoon - after checking cable and other "visual" faults. Warranty runs out on Saturday - but they are not sure what has caused the problem yet. I'm advised if it's mechanical failure, warranty covers it, if it's just wear and tear it doesn't.....
  2. 3'rd set on the front here, after only 56,000 miles!
  3. Probably a stupid question - but have you tried it with the key in the door rather than just the remote ... just to rule out a flat battery.
  4. Ah there's the rub Terry - first day a courtesy car is available at Folkestone is 17 JulY!
  5. Here's a good one - Phone call to Barrett's Folkestone - how much for a 50K service for a 1.6 petrol Berlingo -- reply £165 Phone call to Barrett's Canterbury, same question -- reply £285 !
  6. Yes the outside edges of mine went too - just replaced the fronts for the second time at 49,000. The rears are both still fine.
  7. Is it down to the screen wash? I've never used the stuff - absolutely hate it.
  8. No cracks on my 2.5 year old Berlingo
  9. We had a thread about this a while ago - may be still at the bottom of this page somewhere if you look around. Depends a lot on where you live, but agree strongly on phoning around dealers in your area - prices vary greatly here in Kent.
  10. This is odd - didn't we have quite a long thread on this topic - where have all the posts gone?
  11. I started an earlier thread about the Euro NCAP results which were
  12. Echo the previous comments - welcome
  13. Agree with Terry there, Dover resident with a Desire, we're always popping over the water, amd have never been classed as high sided without the roof box, and that includes SeaFrog, Speedferries, Hoverspeed as was and the tunnel - I'll admit that since we never use P&O (who in their right mind would?) I wouldn't know about them.
  14. Silver here, the grey wasn't available when we bought but always looks nice when I see one. The height restriction on Riviera car parks is to prevent camper vans taking over the car parks apparently.
  15. Funnily enough having owned our 53 reg for 2.5 years now, experienced my only difficulty so far last week at a car park in the town centre in Ashford, Kent which had a low roof of only 1.7 metres. Apart from that no bother, it's fine in the normal carriages on Eurotunnel, you don't have to go as a high vehicle unless you have a roof box. If you do have a roof box and travel to the French Riviera expect parking difficulties though, as we discovered last summer most car parks down there have a height restriction of about 2 metres.
  16. Haven't had any such problems with mine
