  1. thanks Paul but that's the part number for the original part! Citroen list it as NLA it's a round sensor also known as 6405y5 the old rain sensor was 6500N5 what I need is a rectangular part ! I'd post a picture but I haven't worked out how to do that yet! thanks tough!
  2. hi I have a MK1 C5 VTR that was originally fitted with auto lights and wipers, Thing is at some point the windscreen has been replaced and the original sensor was changed as MK1 sensors were round in shape the new glass has a rectangular sensor ( part no. 9647694480 ) this is just a rain sensor! the Citroen dealer is only giving me the part no. for the originally installed part that is no longer built ! can anybody tell me what the part no. that corresponds to upgrade my installed part to the original auto lights/ wipers ! Thanks guys
  3. thanks John but the seals were damaged! and the R clip was a total Pig to get out as was separating the pushrod to the trailing arm! I know the seals are designed to allow fluid through for lubrication but the piston had slack ! the piston and cylinder diameter are perfect ! but it's trying to get the new slip seal in that's being a right pain ! as I'm not wanting to pay £200 for a new strut for a £3 part !
  4. hi I own a C5 estate that had a leaking suspension gaiter so I thought i would replace it for the dreaded MOT ! however I also discovered that the seals that are original and 11 years old are worn! I got new seals and thought it cannt be that difficult boy was I wrong! the inner oil seal was easy but can any one tell me how you get the slip seal in as it is larger than the cylinder bore and the new oil seal fills the locating recess ! all tips would be greatly appreciated ! thanks
