hi, can anybody help me please, i have a 2000 reg xantia 2.0hdi (aircon). Over the last couple of days the red light in the temp gauge keeps flashing along with the red "STOP" light.After about a minute the flashing stops. the cooling fans also seem to be on constantly when engine running,even with the weather being quite cool The car is not overheating,i have recently changed the coolant and all levels are correct.After trawling the net on this subject i understand its more than likely a bad connection between the brown sensor in the themostat housing & the bitron controll unit (controlls the cooling fans & warning lamps)? please help if possible ... i'm baffled regards,

HI,seem to have a loud drumming noise only when the brakes are applied at speed say above 60mph,when the brakes are applied at slow speed there is no noise,no wheel bearing noise is apparant,could this be glazed rear pads (they were new 15k ago) or low front pads? any thoughts or ideas would be great thanks

Hi..my car is like a pogo stick to drive,are the spheres gone..also ive noticed the accumultor ticks quite fast now,is this also on the way out?..if the accumulator is gone whos the best place for a re con pleides? many thanks

Thanks for that,so air in the system will keep the light on for longer?,would it help to replace the filters in the tank?????

Hi, Now its gone very cold the stop light is taking 10 minutes to go out.I have cleaned the LHM filters from the tank in petrol.it was better for a short time but now its back to how it was.would i be best to re new the filters and bleed the brakes to get new LHm into the system. many thanks Colin e mail colin.mogford@uk.gm.com

Hi, Got A W reg HDI,the last couple of mornings the stop light has failed to go out first thing and I have had no brakes,but when trying later in the day when slightly warmer the light goes out as normal and all is well,could there be moisture in the LHM?........does the system need bleeding/new fluid Thanks Colin Mogford Hinckley Leicester

How long should the stop light stay on for.....seems to take longer to go out when starting on a cold morning?

This is an odd one,i'm getting this noise on and off like the old electric fuel pump noise,on MGB etcs....seems to be coming from drivers side bulkhead,there is no effects on driving or performance,just a little concerned that something is going to break or stop working....also whats the cam belt service interval on this car please...is 100k correct????? Sorted the fuel leak........its coming from the top of the filter housing,someone has told me if when changing the fuel filter you are too hand fisted you can put a hair line crack in the plastic housing... e bay to the rescue...browns of louth (Peugeot dealer) sold me one for £25 all in inc post retail is £55 plus Hope this may help someone Colin Mogford

many thanks....so i have the engine running in high mode,then top up with LHM,when the disc is in the glass,I need work the suspension through its settings.....so I dont have to bleed the brakes?

Bought this car last friday,took it for a test drive stop light flickered once,i queried this with the bloke he says he just pumps the pedal and it goes away(he had no clue about cars)..I picked the car up monday night drove it home a couple of miles,didnt see the light.drove to work tuesday morning 5 miles no light,brakes fine.drove home last night brakes felt fine,but i saw the light flicker once/twice..so when i got home as per manual i put it in high with the engine running,checked the tank and couldnt see the disc in the globe,so i thought ok needs some LHM fluid.....then this morning,lucky i start early as i went through the first set of traffic lights no ***ing brakes,stop light then on all the time,the pedal just felt rock hard..PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME ITS JUST A CASE OF VERY LOW LHM FLUID AND WHEN ITS AT THE CORRECT LEVEL THE BRAKES WILL WORK FINE... HI THERE, JUST BOUGHT TONIGHT (14/1/08)A ZANTIA HDI,THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS FLASHING,AND THE SIDE AIR BAG SYMBOL IS ON CONSTANTLY,BUT CAR HASNT GOT SIDE AIR BAGS??ALSO WHEN I STOPPED THE CAR I COULD SMELL DIESEL,SEEMS TO BE DIESEL ON THE FRONT OF THE BLOCK,CHECKED THE RAIL ETC,CANT SEE ANYTHING OBVIOUS,SEEMS DAMP AROUND THE FILTER HOUSING,IS THERE ANYTHING KNOWN ABOUT THIS??????
