I had same problem with my car, 02 plate 1.6 eml can't on. The car felt like it was misfiring so replace the coil pack spark plugs services it twice. So bought fault code reader of eBay really cheap came up with fault code p1070 air and fuel trim. ok. I changed the maf sensor, coolant temp sensor clean the throttle body, cleaned all the wires and connecters. Change air filter. Nothing, then the car started cutting out without any warning. Fault coded again found to fault codes p1070 fuel trim and p1327 same problems has the first code. The car got worst cutting out round bends and straight roads so changed the relay next to ecu. ( red/brown box) cause thought that was the problem. Well after endless weekends of trying decides that the car was unsafe for the road and scaped it. Wasn't safe for someone with kids. So maybe if you try some of the things I did it may hopefully will work. Finger crossed and good luck

Get fault code reader off eBay. Mine xsara picasso had eml on. Got fault code reader off eBay and well long story short car been scaped.

No deposits on plugs means lean not rich sorry

Hi,thanks for the reply and welcoming me, I'm also thinking lambda sensor the second one was cacked in old oil inside the block connector,all plugs look fine but a little too clean with no deposits meaning its running too rich or hot,will check lambada on laptop tomorrow thanks

Hi, can anybody help? I have a 2002 petrol 1.6 picasso,the engine light came on with fault code p0170 ( it doesn't say rich or lean) just fuel trim,this happend a week after a new clutch and the car has always been sluggish since owning about a year ago, the car also feels like a constant flat spot and judders when idling,I have fitted a new map sensor with no luck and changed the fuel filter. I am great full for any help thanks I just want the em light off
