  1. Update: Had the EGR un-blanked, took the vehicle to local main Citroen shop. They diagnosed, and subsequently repaired, the problem - Swirl Flap! She's been running perfectly for weeks since. Let's hope this is the end of my C8 woes. :)
  2. Against my instruction, the mechanic blanked off the EGR. The car is still losing power at low revs/idling, hopping, black smoking. My patience is running thin
  3. Excellent thank you Paul, I'll let you know how I get on
  4. Sorry Paul, it's 110bhp. Cheers Dave
  5. It's a 2004 2.0 litre C8 LX HDI 16V
  6. Cheers Paul, Where is the EGR located?
  7. Hi all, My C8 has developed a new problem. For a couple of weeks it has been playing up- losing power at low revs/idling, hopping, intermittent black smoke. But running just fine at speed in the higher gears. Today whilst driving there was a loud pop, and the car immediately became gutless (especially on hills), belching black smoke, and the turbo is whistling like hell when the accelerator is pushed. Any suggested prognosis?? Cheers Dave Ps. Historically the engine has been replaced due to cam belt snapping, and the DPF has been removed although the ecu mapping may have been borked cos I still get the 'Diesel Additive' warning message.
  8. Swapped out the head unit for a new shiny Sony job. Used the ISO leads supplied, swapping the yellow and red wire spade connection so it's switched power (as per the instructions that came with the new unit). However, the stereo still stays on when I turn off ye ignition. <red faced man waves fist at the sky> Any suggestions anyone?
  9. Doh! Just got it sorry. However, I do have a couple of other problems I need to ask about
  10. My display says 'OVERSPEED OFF'. Any suggestions as to what this is, why it's there, how to get rid? Cheers Dave
  11. Hi, Thanks for your previous help. I have another problem, The drivers side electric window goes down fine, but not up. It 'ticks' loudly and I have to push the glass up manually. Anyone familiar with this problem? Cheers Dave
  12. Thank You!
  13. Many thanks for the prompt response Paul. Is the clutch adjustable? Cheers Dave
  14. Hi all, new to the club, please be gentle. I have a 2004 2.0 C8. My gear lever is really hard to shift, especially into reverse. It had a clutch change about a year ago (same time as the engine changeout (long story)). It's supposed to be the wife's car, but she won't drive it now because or the gear change difficuly. Any suggestions?
