Hello to all once again! I have a question for fitting new tyres to my A51 C3 1.6 e-hdi. Standard fitted tyres are 195/55/16 and I thought that 205/55/16 would probably fit fine as well. Below are the differences between these two tyres; Tire Size Comparison Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference195/55-16 4.2in 12.2in 24.4in 76.8in 825 0.0%205/55-16 4.4in 12.4in 24.9in 78.2in 811 1.8%Pricewise, 205/55/16 will cost 150€ (120GBP) less per set, seems a bargain to me! Not to mention the more options to choose from. On the other hand, tyre fitter told me that this change won't work as the 205/55/16 may easily hit the wheel wells at any given point. This is common not to new C3s but the same story goes for Corsa, Yaris, Polo etc, using the same tyres. At least here in Greece. If anyone has any experience with such tyre change, please share it. Thanks Paul for your recommendation; I will see if it is possible to check the timing belt so easily in my A51 e-hdi. @qman3428: I am sure that a timining belt is -maybe- good enough for even 200K. Usually it is changed sooner than dealer's recommendations for having our piece of mind. In any case, if it is easy to access it and take a look at its condition, it is surely a plus for its change delay. BTW, good move to change the water pump with the timing belt ;-) . This is what i always do as well.

Thank you John for your reply. So to play it safe, 60-75K it will be a good limit. What about the time frame, say 5, 6 or 7 years for example?

Hello guys, Just read the whole conversation and although it's old, I have to make the same question; when should we change the timing belt? And I am asking this as diesel engined cars were allowed in Greece for the past couple of years (at least in the big cities) and while we have an extensive experience with petrols, diesels are still very new to us. In regards then to C3 A51/DS3 with 1.4hdi 70 and 1.6hdi 90 engines where Citroen says that timing belt should be changed every 10 years or 112,500 miles (180,000 km) and I think that it is way to risky for a so long period of time, what would you propose? Citroen says that diesel timing belts are much more enforced compared to petrol ones. Thanks!

You should consider buying led's supporting canbus. I suppose that the ones you got are not.

As far as I know, PSA proposes for its FAP engines TOTAL QUARTZ INEO ECS 5W-30 with international standards ACEA C2 and manufacturer certifications B71 2290. Watch out for Total oils NOT made in France !!! Make sure that on the label is clearly stated that they are made in Frnace. To my euro 5 emission C3 1.6 e-hdi I use Yacco P-5w30 with same specifications (low SAPS ACEA C2 API SN/CF PSA B712290). This engine oil is suitable for Euro 4 and 5 engines. Change is up to every 30,000 km (18,750 miles) or 1 year (depending of course your car's use). Feel free to use test them.

There are various theories on this problem; have had it on my 2003 Xsara 1.6 petrol. I would start with the easy to check things; spark plugs and fuel pump. Especially if you park your car uphill and a bit leaned.

Currently we have a 2008 C4 1.6 16v Exclusive, a 2010 C4 1.4 16v Elegance and a C3 1.6 e-HDI Eco Chic, all bought new from local Citroen dealers.
