  1. I aint expecting impressive performance but what i mean is you can feel that after 3000rpm the turbo does nothing, i never really take it past 2500 but if your going to overtake thats when you notice! Just with turbo being known to fail easy way to find out if it is working correctly is by checking boost pressure! Love the car and economy and i also think for the size of engine to the car it does go very well but its just nighling at me about the turbo! As i have had a few turbo cars i have experianced turbo failure an found it to be costly last time cost me over £700 to rectify buy time i replaced turbo and flushed engine oil and coolant basically giving car full service bht that was i am strong believer in using genuine parts! Even down to oil. I could have probably done it cheaper but cheaper aint always best
  2. Thanks guys, i will do those checks, the car has just been serviced as well lol. I have always thought the turbo felt lazy, i mean i dont expect it to be sports car accelaration but lower gear it just feels like the turbo runs out of boost pretty quick and only feels effective or descent in a certain range, 5th it pulls well on motorway but i am hesistant to overtake on bits off road were previous cars i know i could pass no issues,
  3. Since i baught my car the AC for the Dual Climate has not worked, it has been regassed and assesed there is a leak! Just wondering where i am most likely to find the leak, if anyone else has had this problem on there AC my car is the Current shape 1.6hdi VTR+. I put it in for its MOT and service the other day, passed with only a burst clip on CV joint needing fixed, advisory is brake discs and rear pads are showing signs of wear, so that is next on my list to change, i want to get AC fixed for summer as obviously on a hot day is a god send!.
  4. Change your fuel filter, i was having that same issue also sometimes it would come up dpf system failure, when hooked upto lexia fault came back as low fuel pressure and massive leak in fuel line, there was no leak, i changed the fuel filter and had no issues since, for some reason the service doesnt include fuel filter at main dealers, which i think is strange on a diesel as i beleive that on any diesel the fuel filter should be changed atleast every 2nd service or 24k mls. Diesel tends to have a lot of crap in it, eventually fuel filter chokes giving you that hesitation your talking about, takes 15min's to change and my car goes sweet better than when i baught it
  5. I was just wondering if anyone knows what the boost pressure should be as i read that the Garret GT1544V is good for upto 150bhp engines! Also i find that my boost range aint very long but ok up higher gears! but usually seems to be within in a certain range when accelerating i would say after 3000rpm it feels like theres no help from the turbo so its like its topped out in around 750rpm basically wondering if my turbo is running correctly, been trying to find out specs etc such as pressure and i would expect it to lag higher revs not mid range, going to hook up lexia see what info i can get from turbo,
  6. I put my reg plate on my car last year but been without my C5 since Noember as the DVLA have screwed up on the reg transfer! They never corrected the M.O.T. So i cant tax, after several calls to them and promises to sort it. I am still no further forward! My M.O.T. Is not due till april so i have lost 5 months on it, my car is going in for its service in a couple of weeks so thought it would be simpler to just re m.o.t. At same time! What sort of things should i look out for on the new shape c5 that is likely to fail! I dont think it will as car is running perfect and everything feels good when driving, but just want to make sure theres nothing i have missed!
  7. The chinease have been desperate to get into the Europeane market, this is one way to get in, the reason w aint been flooded with chinease cars yet is the European safety standards, as we all know Citroen is fanatical about safety, I hope they just dont take away the special thing that Citroen bring to the car market. In my eyes Citroen has always lead the way in design apart from a couple of cars but they have always stood out and ahead of there time, the value from a citroen is great with spec list and safety, i bet citroen could design a simple basic car like a dacia (and i mean as basic) and sell it for the same price or less. Lets not forget Dacia is owned by Renault and built from left overs from other models. Me personally i would go for the citroen owned not renault owned cheap car as my experiance with renault is they suck!! Now Citroen is going to the chinease we will see some small car in the near future to beat Dacia in value. So it could be a good thing
  8. Also there were extras like for sale sections, traders etc, was just an idea.
  9. I think this is an excellent site, the hints and tips and knowledge gained is excellent, I am curious to whether or not theres a membership available, i was a member on another site and one of the perks was you had a trade account when you became a fully paid member, which meant you could by direct from dealership genuine items at trade cost. As well as the trade part you also got the standard members pack which included, photo ID, Sticker, info, tax disc holder and for an extra fiver a nice branded steel keyring. This made that site extremely populer as membership was £15 + £2.50 for keyring, bonuses such as discount on items an certain stores etc, you could also buy the usual items such as branded hoodies, baseball caps, t-shirts with club info an logo. Has this route been thought about as i would happily pay for membership especially with trade account, i am sure other members on here would also! They also did a lower rate membership which allowed full access to site if there are restricted sections for paid members only. What is your views on this? & also interested in what admin an mods think? I think one person needs to be recognised and thanked for his effort and help and that is Paul.h he does a great job helping users. The good thing about paid members is it helps with advertising, running costs, organised meets, show events etc! I understand some people would not be interested in going to events but some would be, just thought i would put this out there to find out peoples opinions and thoughts from the people who run the site.
  10. I did actually think of doing that as i reckon the C5 1.6hdi is a perfect car for a taxi! Especially with the child lock button lol. Stop punters from doing a runner. But on a serious note the economy is excellent along with space in the car and boot size, the safety spec. Overall i find it hard to find a car in its catogary that is compatible! But i think i am not allowed to use it for private hire, I may resort to going back into haulage, on nights though as roads are quiter and you dont have to do multidrop which sucks in a class1 artic'
  11. Oh and i also activated the DRL's using lexia
  12. My C5 standard apart from wind deflectors front and back, yellow fog light bulbs and rear led indicators.
  13. As i was laid off just before christmas the job search aint going to great, theres not a lot of work out there tbh so i think i may have to part with my C5. Just wondering if there are any good places to sell it, there aint a for sale section on here or i would have advertised here, i really dont want to sell but situation calls for it.
  14. All the best everyone hope 2014 brings you good luck, health & prosperity.
