  1. Thanks Paul. car is an 06 XTR model and has just turned 80k miles. The small 2 wire connector that goes from the round large connector is all but impossible to get to . You need the fingers of a two year old to get at it. Eventually made a small hook out of a metal coat hanger and fished around till it finally landed on the connector release latch. This was the connector for the electronic EGR valve.
  2. The engine management light has been annoying my for the last 3 months. I have had it diagnosed as Air Flow meter Low or no output. I don't remember the code. So about 10 weeks ago I changed the air flow meter - no change. I then noticed that the rubber moulded loom for the injectors and air flow meter was cracked where it turns at 90 degrees near injector no 4. If you opened the crack up bare wires were exposed. The rubber moulding prevented me from making a proper repair. Since then I have been looking out for a replacement loom. No joy on ebay, but one turned up on 1st Choice Spares from a scrap car. The car is a 1.4 16v HDi XTR. Citroen wanted close on 400 pound for a new loom without guarantee that would be the cure. I fitted the replacement loom . I must add that I have worked on many cars in my time and fitting this tiny loom almost broke me. So difficult, due to poor design. In the process I snapped a leak back nozzle on one of the injectors. New set ordered. Just letting you know the MIL light has finally gone out. It took about 20 miles over three trips. I have also noticed a small diesel leak above cylinder no 2. I am suspecting the leak back connector as this broke easily. So the moral of the story is don't trust Citroen diagnostics. They couldn't pin point the fault and just wanted to replace parts until it disappeared. Tony
  3. I recently bought a new undertray and fixing kit from a company on ebay, it was a good fit and at £20 ish was a bargain. Quality not as good as original but the ABS plastic was as thick, just a few issues with the hole placements.
  4. Hi I have a 2006 C3 XTR, it has a panoramic sunroof that does not work too well. It clunks and clicks when opening/closing. Is there a quick fix. A set of cogs (pair) is advertised on ebay but I am not sure if I need these or a new motor. Also is this repair in the realms of the average DIYer, Haynes manual advises against it. I cannot afford to have a main dealer spend hours sorting it.
  5. Once again thanks Paul
  6. Can anyone tell me if there are any differences in inner wheel arch/splashguards. There are a number available on ebay but they say they are not compatible with my vehicle. Surely they must all be the same. many thanks
  7. My C3 is a noisy old thing. The car squeaks at the front end. Not sure if its suspension or loose plastics underneath ie undertray and associated side panels. I have ordered a new tray and fastener set as mine is in bits all wired together. If it is suspension related, is there a product I can spray on bushes etc, without damaging the rubber. Many thanks
  8. Thanks Paul. I think I will cut away the rubber moulding and piece in a few new lengths of cable. That rubber plastic stuff around the loom is horrible to remove.
  9. I have been digging deeper into this. I cleaned the MAF with a spray cleaner and this cleared my P0102 problem for 2 days then returned. Sunday was a cold but nice day and spent the morning buzzing out the wiring between the ECU and MAF connectors. The large round connector on top of the engine was disconnected and further investigation pointed to the rubberised loom that encapsulates the wiring to the injector and MAF connectors. On the last bend something had worn through two of the wires. ( Not sure what that was as its under the top engine cover ) It was difficult to separate the wired from the rubber moulding put digging deeper 3 of the wires were suspect. I have re wrapped then for now and have been given a price from Pentagon Citroen £ 149 plus VAT for a new loom. Not paying that. Looking for a new connector to build my own loom. Injector connectors easily available, but the 6 pin MAF jobbie I cannot find. Once the engine was running again that rubberised bend in the loom is under some stress as the loom is pressed into the top of the engine making it solid. The little tail sticking out connecting to the MAF on a 90 degree bend rattles all over the place. A bit of a weak spot.
  10. Thanks Paul, I have ordered a cheap one from ebay, as unfortunately I am selling the car. Hopefully this will fix it. Is the EML on an MOT failure as its in for an MOT on 21st. Only advisory last year was worn seat belt webbing on drivers side and have ordered a second hand one from ebay. Now all I need is a tray for the back of the drivers seat, the small fitting that holds tailgate strut on and a new undertray.
  11. Forgot to mention. EML on with P0102 and P3007 faults.
  12. The air flow meter on my 2006 1.4 HDi 16valve model needs a replacement air flow meter. The part number is 9647570080. I am having trouble finding a reasonably priced unit. Can anyone help. It is the oval shaped type not the round one. Many thanks
  13. Well I cleaned the Air flow meter (left it in the housing) and removed the accelerator pedal. Used a MAF cleaner to clean both and the MIL light has remained off. Pleased with the result. Its been two weeks now and all seems well.
  14. Cheers Paul. Weather permitting will remove the MAF tomorrow to give it a clean and find the part number.
  15. Hello all. I am new to this forum as up until now the car a C3 1.4 HDi 2006 in XTR trim has sort of behaved itself, flying through the last 3 MOT's. The EML has recently come on. I have taken to a local garage where I live in Porthmadog. Snap-on scanner found some codes so cleared them all. Two days later EML light relit and the following codes have been thrown up. P1351 Pre-post Heating relay circuit incoherence P0102 Flow sensor signal open circuit or short circuit to ground P3007 Flow sensor signal too low. My question is which of these will make the EML light up. Thanks for looking. Tony
