  1. Thanks Coastline, I didn't know that. I had a look again earlier and managed to get at the wiring where it comes in. It has been repaired before but one of them had broken again. Re-soldered it but still no luck. I've just about given up with it, but I'll maybe have another go next week and see if I can trace the cable by it's number.
  2. Thanks Paul, I had a quick look there, but it didn't seem too easy to see as it's all taped up in a loom most of the way through the rubber sleeving. Of course it doesn't help that nearly all the wires running in are white so I don't know which one needs checking. I've got some time today so I'll go and have a another look.
  3. Thanks for your answer Paul, I might as well wait until it tells me it needs doing then.
  4. Does the counter know how much fluid you've got, or does it just trigger the light after so many fuel fills? I'm thinking of topping mine up soon hopefully before the light comes on to save having it reset, is that a good idea?
  5. Looking for some help please? The tailgate glass on my 2002 C5 Estate doesn't open, hasn't done for some time according to the previous owner. Having looked on here I found the repair involving soldering a wire to replace the track. I checked the switch with my meter and it was working, so I duly soldered in the replacement wire. The glass still doesn't open. Checked the earth tag by the switch, and that was all good. I then checked continuity from the plug on the solenoid back to the switch. There is a green/yellow wire on the solenoid, alongside a white one. The green/yellow wire has continuity right back up to the switch. Now I'm guessing that the system uses a switched earth and this is it. I'm further guessing that the white wire should be 12v live, but I'm getting nothing on it. I've put 12v to the solenoid and the glass pops lovely. Could I pick up a 12v feed elsewhere for the solenoid does anyone know? Thanks
  6. Thanks for the welcome. To be honest I did like my Xantias, the first one was a bit of a dog but the second one was lovely. I think they were better than the C5 personally, but the toys on the C5 are better.
  7. Hi, I'm Steve from somewhere near Spalding. I've currently got a C5 2.2HDI Break, 52 plate. I've previously had a couple of Xantia 1.9TD estates so should've known better! I've got a couple of issues, and the car's not perfect either, so I'll have a search around for answers, and post in the relevant sections if I can't find them.
