  1. Hi, I have had many issues with this car on and off but it is a great car when it works. Over the last year it has had a chug at low rpm that clears if you floor it, I was putting it down to coil pack on way out. How ever over the last few weeks it has broken down when it gets in traffic or if you leave it run at normal engine temp. Once it stops you try to restart it again but it will only run for a few seconds. If you leave it cool down for a few hours it will start up and drive as normal. How ever it went in for mot where it had a moment and I think they killed the battery and stuck a boost charger on it. The car now is only starting for a few seconds and dies, the dia says main fuse/relay immobilzer enabled it also say Ecu internal fault. How ever I have been told this maybe false as it is not getting power to it. If anyone has any clues on the issue as I have been through the fuse boxes to the point of removing them and inspecting them I have had the the under bonnet bsm fuse box tested eg relays and general components. There is nothing showing in the main screen and the key light on dash is off so I know the key is working ok had a new battery in it and tested with my spare key also. I should of put car details citreon c5 exclusive estate petrol 2lt 16valve year 2003.
  2. IAT is a common fault code it is also common on some readers for a fuel fault, over pressure or under pressure from the hpi pump. If available look at the live data reading to see what fuel pressure is at 30 bar at idle and upto 120 bar at 3000rpm with engine off and ignition on you should have between 5 bar and 8 bar from the tank pump. I would be looking here before spending any more money this engine also has a failure with the pressure switch located under the middle of the air intake manifold can be changed within a few minutes by a good garage. I think the switćh cost me about £35 the last time I had to change it.
  3. If the car has been stood up for some time there is also the risk of the hydronic adjusters are air locked. The old nova use to suffer this after a head gasket change we use to wind them over until the oil light went out and go for a cups tea come back and it would fire up a bit lumpy for a few minutes but it would clear as the air came out of the adjusters. I own a c5 hpi petrol not had this issue yet but would be worth checking fuse 2 in the under bonnet fuse box and pin 11 and 12 on the grey plug, these are the power supply to the tank pump and are well known for fuel issues on this model. A replacement bsm fuse box is about £ 175 from the main dealer but there is a fix kit available from them also. It is also if at hand and you have a basic engine reset tool code reader to look at the live data when you try starting it. Fuel pressure should be at 30bar at idle and upto 120bar at 3500rpm the tank pump should between 5bar & 8bar this should show in the live data before you start the engine. I hope this helps you a little as there is very little knowledge on this hpi engine citreon are scare by it and refuse to give part numbers on some parts if you face that issue go in the back door through the nearest Peugeot dealer.
