  1. Just a follow up on C5 coil spring suspension - my 2008 (58 plate) C5 Tourer (124k miles) just suffered a broken front driver's side coil spring. Symptom - loud grinding noise over every tiny bump in the road. Do not be tempted to drive to garage ! This can wreck your tyre as well. DCB Autos in Yeovil - as usual - did a good job for me at a reasonable price. Replaced drop-link as well.
  2. "Would like to go for the Hydractive suspension." I have a 2008 (58 plate) C5 Tourer - with the standard suspension. It's fine - very comfortable. No need for over-complication. One fewer thing to go wrong ! Agree about the leaky steering rack - it was a pain to get it replaced. Apart from that - 115,000 miles on the clock, going fine.
  3. Hello, the retractable parcel shelf does not function correctly as the plastic lugs are broken and do not engage the slot. So the blind droops down. Very tiresome. As mentioned in a previous post, a full replacement of the shelf (blind) is a monstrous cost, in excess of £300. Does anyone have a good experience with a repair ? Thanks C5 Tourer 2.0 HDI (2008)
  4. Excellent article - thank you. My C5 mk 3 Tourer (2008) had the top seal on the steering rack go - lots of fluid all over the place over several months. Nasty. The excellent Hearn Bros in Brixton did the general service but as noted above Citroen will not just supply the replacement seal, will only supply a replacement rack. £1300 quote for supply and fit. Hearn Bros referred me on to Power Steering Services in Greenwich who took the car, stripped and rebuilt the rack for £480 incl VAT.
