  1. I will also ask if they can tell me when the regeneration cycles are if they can plug it in, the revving is on and off when it happens and oniony do small local journeys I guess I would need a good long run to have an effective regeneration? I've never had one that I know of before. thank you
  2. Hi Paul and thank you for the welcome :) My apologies it's a BG range of fuel and engine additives which come in tim cans which are supplied through Kwik Fit, not Halfords sorry. I had one added to the fuel to clean the fuel system and one added to the oils and run for 15 mins before emptying through the sump, which got quite a bit of sludge out apparently, and a final one added to the newly topped up oil which is a conditioner. I know Kwik Fit offer them alongside a service now for an extra 50 pounds or you can pop in and get them individually for 20 each at my local one. Some to have made it smoother but not solved the revving. My garage tells me they think it is now an EGR valve which needs cleaning as is happens intermittently which I'm told is a pain to get to. So I'm thinking maybe trying another fuel additive before I take her in next week to see if I can get it cleaned that way. Thanks
  3. Hi Glenn how did you get on? I have the 2.0hdi EGS and need a new fuel quite regularly. I think I've had about 4 in 20k miles. I've recently got a new problem where it seems to rev whilst I'm driving at constant speed, and it's intermittent. I change the oil regularly and I've just had the BG engine clean from halfords and a new fuse box as the car would terminate all electrical functions on the dash before cutting the engine. Citroen found this one for me and changed the battery at the same time. The dash would show handbrake failure, esp failure, gearbox failure etc etc. Before cutting the engine. There also was a faulty switch under the brake pedal which showed up when plugged in at my local garage which I think caused limp mode to come on where I couldn't go past 3rd on the auto box - a known fault apparently when the replacement switch was ordered. Now I just have the revving and stuttering problem to solve. At one point the dash showed risk of particulate filter clogging or some such like who I honk is dpf filter but it hasn't come back on again. I'm just driving it around waiting to see if it will finally come back up with an en error fr the revving that I can either get it plugged in for or I can read on the dash. It's at 60500 miles 2007 plate. Just wondered if you solved your problem or if anyone has had a thing similar to the revving I now have. Worst fear would be clutch I think as they sound expensive on an auto, I don't really know. But my garage doesn't want to do a dpf clean unless the car is asking for it as it needs to cooperate I think. Hope some of this helps someone, it's been a fun few weeks working out this multi layer problem :) Cheers
