Guest pgarforth Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Hi....I've not long since bought a 2.2 HDI SX (2002) model as a tow hack for my racing exploits and want to add the cd changer. Ive bought one....I think its the correct Clarion for the car (came from a 2002 C5) and know it fits under the seat in place of the tray. The plug on the changer doesnt seem to match either spare plug on the underseat loom.....should there be some sort of mini loom attached to the changer to match the plugs up? I hevnt yet removed the tray, but I assume the changer cradle just uses the same mounts and faces rearwards??Thanks for any help! Quote
Guest pgarforth Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Has no one ever fitted one....or looked? Quote
coastline taxis Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 The cd changer faces forward and chances are that the wiring has been shoved under the carpet to hide it. Ive got a loom for one somewhere will pull it out and check for you Quote
Guest pgarforth Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Thanks for the info. I found the loom next to the sill which had the seat plugged into it and 2 spare plugs but neither match the cd changer. If its facing forwards then they dont look like theyre going to be long enough to reach either. Is there more 'stuff' under the carpet then? Quote
coastline taxis Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 definatley face forward just behind the bar you pull to move the seat back and forth. Dont know if it has to be coded with your vin like the head units do. And are you sure its a citroen one as the plugs in the harness will be correct Quote

And are you sure its a citroen one as the plugs in the harness will be correct I've got a late model exclusive (mk 2) with no multi-changer( they took it off the spec) but still has the cage and wiring (never used, still wrapped up) - it has a square bue plug - I think this is the connection, although earlier models may be different ( Clarion v Blaupunkt) Quote
Guest pgarforth Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Starting to think my head unit must be Blaupunkt! Quote
Guest pgarforth Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 The changer I have does have a square blue plug but theres no match on the underseat loom.....I take it that the changer wires will be in with that bundle and not somewhere else? Quote

The standard underseat loom is for airbags, and motorised seats if fitted. You will need the wiring installed, and the head unit programmed to accept the changer. Your head unit will be the din sized Clarion, not the over-sized Blaupaunkt RD4, which controls the car's settings (auto lights etc) Quote
coastline taxis Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 im sure weve got a complete set somewhere i.e head unit/changer/and wiring will have a look on munday and get back to you Quote
